Havyard Names New CFO

Norwegian shipbuilding and technology group Havyard will appoint Erik Høyvik as CFO in Havyard Group from August 1, 2020.Havyard, which designs and builds various types of vessels, including those used in the offshore energy industry, said its current CFO Pål Aurvåg, would start in a new role in the company in August. Norwegian offshore and fishing vessel builder Havyard Group said Gunnar Larsen will serve as interim CEO until the group finds a replacement for retiring chief executive Geir Johan Bakke.Bakke has been employed in Havyard Group since 2001, and he has been CEO since 2004.Larsen, who comes from the position of General Manager of the Havyard Production & Service business area, is Senior Vice President of Market & Business Development in Havyard Group and has been with Havyard for 12 years.He will immediately begin recruiting a permanent CEO, the company said.In November, Havyard Group announced t

Havyard Taking Over Hull Number 50 from Cemre

Havyard’s collaboration with the Turkish shipyard Cemre has been decisive in the company’s ability to deliver top-quality competitive newbuilds from its own shipyard in Leirvik in Sogn.On Saturday, August 24, Cemre Shipyard launched the hull of Havyard Ship Technology AS’s build number 144. The hull will now be towed to Leirvik for fitting out, testing and completion and is scheduled for delivery to Fjord1 in January 2020, to operate the Sandvika - Edøya service. Havyard Group Restructuring to Stay Profitable

All business areas in Havyard Group have been affected to a varying degree by the general downturn in the market in the oil industry. The Group has been working over time on rationalisation and restructuring in order to adapt to the new framework conditions. As a result of recent market developments and expectations of continuing low demand, the Group is now implementing further measures. Among other things, this will entail cutting the workforce by around 100 full-time equivalents. These job cuts are the result of both rationalisation of the operation of the company and an adjustment of the total production capacity. Like most companies in the maritime cluster, Havyard Group ASA has grown and increased its capacity in recent years.

“Olympus” Named in Fosnavåg

Build number 116 from Havyard is called ‘Olympus’. It is the third in the series of Havyard’s 832 design, and, as mentioned, the eighth vessel to be delivered to Global Offshore Services. On Friday night, an Indian ceremony was held on board, where the Indians blessed this impressive ship in accordance with their customs, before godmother Sun Wen of China wished the vessel good luck in the traditional manner. In addition to the invited guests many others also took the trip to see «Olympus» being named at quay in Fosnavåg in the lovely November weather. It is tradition for Global Offshore to name their ships after mountains. This time, it was the turn of the Greek mountain Olympus, which at 2,919 metres is the tallest mountain in Greece.

New Head of Havyard Ship Technology

Kenneth Pettersen becomes Executive Vice President of Havyard Ship Technology AS, thereby becoming head of the business area and general manager of the company. Pettersen will also continue as COO of the Havyard Group as well as being deputy for CEO Geir Johan Bakke of Havyard Group. Pettersen is 48 years old and was educated as a mechanical engineer with additional qualifications in project management and business management. He worked at Ulstein shipyard for 17 years as a planner, project manager, project director and production director before joining Havyard in 2007, where he was assigned responsibility for hull production and overall planning. Pettersen has been COO of Havyard Group from 2009.

Havyard Rings Bell on Group's Oslo Bourse Listing

Norwegian shipbuilders, service providers & designers Havyard Group ASA inform that its listed stock has been traded on the Oslo Børs as President & CEO Geir Johan Bakke rang the ceremonial bell. Per Sævik, CEO of the family company Havila Holding said in connection with the planning of the IPO: “Our family has broad interests in the offshore supply industry. In light of this, and because we see that we need to optimise the conditions for continued growth for Havyard Group, both on technology and ship equipment, we choose to reduce our ownership. Havyard has a significant potential for growth, but the further development of the company requires more than we as a family company have the possibility to contribute”.

Norway's Havyard Group AS buys 70 % of the shares in MMC, provider of products & services to the fishing & offshore vessel sectors. MMC has 120 employees and the company’s main office is at Mjølstadneset in Fosnavåg on the west coast of Norway. The company is also located in Stavanger, Haugesund, Vigra and Tromsø, as well as having a branch office in Lima, Peru. MMC and Tendos joined forces in 2000 to deliver products  to fishing and well boats as well as shore-based receiving plants.

Norwegian Shipyard Reports Growth in Indian OSV Orders

Five vessels have already been constructed and delivered from Havyard Ship Technology in Leirvik, Norway. The Fosnavåg-based company is also in the middle of constructing a vessel of a Havyard 832 design, due to be delivered from the Leirvik shipyard in March next year. And recently the latest contract for a vessel of a Havyard 832 design to be delivered in July next year, was signed to the value of NOK 270 million. There`s also an option for delivery of a vessel of the same design in March 2014. The 8 vessels have a value of around NOK 2 billion. CEO Geir Johan Bakke of Havyard Group AS is proud by what the business group from Fosnavaag, Norway has managed to achieve in India and in particular in relation to Global Offshore. Naming Ceremony For Seven Havila Held In Stavanger
