GC Rieber to Transfer Fleet Management Business to OSM

Norwegian offshore vessel owner and manager GC Rieber Shipping has signed an agreement to transfer its fleet management services business to OSM Maritime Group, and become a pure shipowner.Under the agreement, GC Rieber Shipping will transfer all technical, crewing, and support functions in Bergen to OSM.OSM will establish a new ship management company within the offshore segment in Bergen, who will be owned 100% by OSM and be located together with OSM Bergen.GC Rieber Shipping currently has 6 vessels under management in Bergen, including vessels under third party management.

OSM Looks to Boost Mozambique Maritime Education

OSM Maritime Group says it is aiming to make the shipping industry accessible to all as part of its involvement in the UN Global Compact (UNGC) initiative. The ship management company,has signed a MOU to re-launch the Mozambican Higher School of Nautical Sciences. It is also actively working to increase the number of females in its global pool of 11,000 qualified seafarers. OSM is one of the first companies in the ship management segment to join the UNGC. Teekay Announces Senior Management Change

Teekay Corporation announced that Geir Sekkesaeter, Senior Vice President, Conventional Fleet Operations, and Head, Technical, Safety and Quality, has decided to leave Teekay for personal reasons, effective as of March 31, 2013. Mr. Sekkesaeter's responsibilities have been transferred to the respective Business Unit Presidents of the Conventional, Shuttle, and Gas fleets, each of whom is a member of the Teekay Senior Leadership Team.
