Bay Diesel Announces Leadership Change

For the first time since its inception in 1982, Bay Diesel has a new president. As voted by their Board of Directors in October 2020, the Senior VP of Sales Willard “Rob” Robins has taken on the role of President, with Scott Wheeler, founder and current president, transferring to a new position as the Chief Executive Officer.This transition has been 17 years in the making. Rob Robins joined Bay Diesel in July of 2003 as a Sales Engineer, having graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1994 from UVA. Now, he is a certified instructor through the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Mandie Moore has been promoted to Service Management. She has been a member of the Bay Diesel family for 6 months. Mandie is responsible for our Government Jobs (NSWG & Coast Guard), special tools, tool room and warranties. Established in 1982, Bay Diesel & Generator is a veteran-owned small business with offices in Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Richmond. Bay Diesel & Generator specializes in diesel engine sales and repair for multiple national brands, as well as generator sales, repair, and maintenance.

Chandler to VP Operations, Bay Diesel

Bay Diesel & Generator announced the promotion of Lynn Chandler to the position of Executive Vice President of Operations. Chandler will oversee the operations of Bay Diesel’s parts department, service division and administrative functions. Chandler has been with Bay Diesel since February of 1990. In his time with Bay Diesel, Chandler has participated in nearly every aspect of the business, including service coordination, payroll and accounting. Chandler became General Manager of Bay Diesel as the company began to grow rapidly.

Bay Diesel & Generator Offers Training

Bay Diesel & Generator, in conjunction with Generac Power Systems, now hosts the Professional Development Seminar Series (PDSS) at its office on Granby Street in downtown Norfolk. The PDSS is a series of seminars for the engineering community based upon real world experiences to provide an understanding of generator capability, functionality, reliability and site-specific load requirements. These 90-minute courses were developed for practicing design, sales and consulting engineers involved in supplying standby power to commercial, industrial, municipal and healthcare facilities.
