CSM Signs Agreement with Oceanly

Columbia Shipmanagement has agreed to install Oceanly Performance solution on board of its ships."Oceanly is a perfect fit for the services that Columbia wants to provide to its customers. The software will allow our technical managers to have a very intimate control of all technical aspects of our managed vessels, while at the same time ensuring complete compliance on all the emission and reporting regulations" says Mark O'Neil, Columbia Group CEO, who was visiting Norshipping and passed by Oceanly’s stand to seal the deal with the company Managing Director, Giampiero Soncini.

Soncini Returns to Help Lead Maritime IT Company

Sovcomflot Completes IT Integration Project

PAO Sovcomflot (“SCF Group”), Russia’s largest shipping company and a global leader in seaborne energy transportation and offshore services, announced the completion of a major IT integration project with the support of SpecTec. The project provides SCF Group with access to the latest enterprise management systems, enabling organizational efficiency to be improved, costs to be reduced and facilitating compliance with the latest regulations impacting upon shipping companies. One of the most complex and advanced IT projects ever undertaken within the shipping industry, this project involved the databases of all 143 vessels within SCF Group’s fleet. Each deliverable under the project having to be deployed successfully on each of the Group’s vessels, requiring great attention to detail.

SpecTec Launches Online Product Support Services

SpecTec announces the launch of new online product support services for AMOS users, starting from January 2013. “We have looked very carefully into what we provide in terms of Services and Support and how we provide it,” says Giampiero Soncini, CEO of SpecTec Group. “ We have made some significant improvements to our Product Support Services, in order to ensure that our Customers experience not only improved service delivery but also an improvement in the effectiveness of AMOS within their daily business”. Yang Ming Successfully Implements AMOS

SpecTec has successfully completed the implementation of AMOS on the first lot of 40 ships with Yang Ming. SpecTec will install AMOS on another 11 ships during the course of 2011, while more system will be implemented in 2012 to complete the Fleet installation which is to date of 89 ships. SpecTec has shown once again to be the only IT Company in shipping which, with its capacity of 300+ employees located in 25 offices all over the world, can deliver large fleet solutions in time and within the terms of the contract.

SpecTec Group Opens Newest Office In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The SpecTec Group has opened their newest office in Rio de Janeiro: officially, AMOS Brasil Sistemas de Gestão de Recursos e Consultoria de Software Ltda., or SpecTec Brazil, will serve as region headquarters. SpecTec’s new local team has been formed and includes professional technical consultants to provide project management and customer support, as well as a business development team. The region is managed by David Reyes, Managing Director, Latin America. In its 26 years of existence, AMOS has become the "de facto" standard Asset Management software in shipping, and a major player in oil & gas and energy sectors; moreover several Navies worldwide are implementing AMOS as a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software to cover their Integrated Logistic Systems aspects.

Hyproc Shipping Chooses AMOS2

During a formal ceremony held at the local Sheraton Hotel in Oran, Algeria on the 9th of September, Giampiero Soncini and Stefano Succi have signed a contract with Hyproc, a branch of the Algerian oil and gas company Sonatrach, the 12th largest oil and gas company in the world. The project (called HYceo) includes the delivery of AMOS software for the Hyproc fleet of LNG carriers, consultancy and bespoke software development, and an extended personnel training program. The project has to be completed by end 2010. SpecTec Italy has linked with Hyproc's team in Algeria, Ernst&Young in Paris (Hyproc bid consultant), Oracle in Algeria and Veson in the USA on this contract in order to present a coordinated and workable bid. SpecTec, China Merchants Energy Shipping Contract

SpecTec has signed an agreement to deliver its AMOS2 Enterprise Suite to China Merchants Energy Shipping Co Ltd, one of China's largest shipping companies. The signing of the contract took place on the 13th of March in Hong Kong between SpecTec CEO Giampiero Soncini, and China Merchants Energy Shipping Deputy General Manager Mr. Y.Q. Huang. The contract includes the delivery of a total of 26 AMOS2 systems to existing ships, followed by the delivery of an additional 16 systems for the newbuilding expansion plan of China Merchants Energy Shipping. Following this contract, SpecTec will expand its operations and staff in Hong Kong to better serve the needs of the local shipping community.

SpecTec to Purchase 20% MarineXchange

SpecTec Group, IT supplier to the merchant and cruise shipping markets, has recently acquired a 20% share in MarineXChange Software GmbH. MarineXchange is a provider of enterprise resource management software to the cruise industry. "The two companies have collaborated for several years already, and our software portfolios and philosophies complement each other very well", said Giampiero Soncini, CEO of SpecTec Group. MarineXchange software can also be used for the food and beverage management of large fleets, as well as for land based hotels. MarineXchange software runs at the office and remote installations such as ships, hotels and warehouses. The software provides tools to collect and retain data, automate processes and share data across an entire organization.

SpecTec Donates AMOS Licenses to MMA

Massachusetts Maritime University(MMA)and SpecTec have entered into a Cooperation Agreement in which SpecTec has agreed to donate AMOS licenses for MMA's Teaching & Training courses. This is the first license donation partnership with a Maritime Academy in the US for SpecTec. International partners include Dalian Maritime University, National Taiwan Ocean University and Italian Maritime Academy. MMA has extended an invitation to SpecTec CEO, Giampiero Soncini to visit the campus in 2009 for a formal signing event. Massachusetts Maritime Academy's programs include Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, International Maritime Business, Facilities Engineering, Marine Safety and Environmental Protection, and Emergency Management.

Long Beach SpecTec CEO and CFO have been hosted by California State University Long Beach (CSULB), to discuss a cooperation agreement with the University. The meeting was arranged by Daniela Rapattoni, of the New Center for Cultural Research and Universities Studies in Italy, an organization sponsored by the Bank of La Spezia. AMOS Software Group Sold

The AMOS software division of Xantic has been acquired from the Dutch telephone group, KPN, by an international group of investors, including members of the previous management. The contract was signed in Amsterdam on May 4, 2005, after negotiations of less than a month. The buyout was led by Giampiero Soncini who said, “We are very happy that AMOS is back with the management that grew the company and understand the AMOS software and the need to develop it and support for the shipowners and managers around the world.” Mr. Soncini will be the company’s new CEO, supported by Stefano Foti as CFO. The company will revert to the original name of SpecTec, which is already widely known.
