DNV GL's ShipManager for Saipem 7000

Saipem, a energy and infrastructure solution provider, is implementing DNV GL’s hull planned maintenance system, ShipManager Hull, based on 3D digital twins of crane and pipelaying vessels.DNV GL will supply its advanced software, ShipManager Hull, for implementation on five vessels of the Saipem fleet. It will start with Saipem 7000, one of the world's largest crane vessels with a lifting capability of 14,000 tonnes at 42 meters. Indeed, crane vessels are exposed to high stresses during lifting, demanding particular attention to structural integrity.

MINSHIP Shipmanagement, based in southern Germany, has chosen DNV GL’s ShipManager fleet management software solution for its fleet of dry cargo vessels.MINSHIP is optimizing processes as they are managing a growing fleet. Sinochem Implements DNV GL's ShipManager to 80 Vessels

China’s Sinochem International Logistics, a leading chemical tanker owner and operator with 80 vessels, is implementing DNV GL’s data smart fleet management system ShipManager on the entire fleet, optimizing operations and improving performance and efficiency. The contract was signed in April at the opening of DNV GL’s newbuilt near-zero-emission Green Office Centre in Shanghai, with the Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg in attendance, in addition to two of her cabinet members. DNV GL - Software CEO Are Føllesdal Tjønn and Sinochem International Logistics Vice General Manager Zhang Xin signed the contract at the ceremony. “We are proud to be partnering with Sinochem, an innovative and growing shipping company in Asia,” said Tjønn.

Mont Hope Selects DNV GL's ShipManager

Mont Hope Ship Management, a new and specialized company focusing on services for vessels engaged in energy segments, is implementing DNV GL’s integrated software system ShipManager on the entire fleet in order to optimize operations and improve performance. Mont Hope Ship Management is a new company, started in May 2015 and based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Concurrent with the start-up, they began the process of selecting a comprehensive fleet management software system to support efficient and safe operations, as well as to improve business performance. The amount of resources needed to gather data from various sources can be challenging and inefficient.

Vertom-Bojen Choose DNV GL Shipmanger Software

Vertom-Bojen Bereederungs GmbH & Co. KG is implementing DNV GL’s ShipManager integrated fleet management software to further improve cost efficiency, process optimization and quality of operations for 41 vessels. When Vertom and Bojen Reederei established the new organization Vertom-Bojen, the fleet consisted of vessels with different software setups that were not integrated. Data was collected, but the system was not streamlined in order to extract insights for management decisions. The management team at Vertom-Bojen realized that a new fleet management system was needed. Using several different software systems to manage one fleet can be costly, inefficient and lead to communication challenges between vessels and onshore management.

DNV GL ShipManager Enables Safety Management Reporting

Shipping companies are increasingly gathering information from the fleet in order to improve their operations and safety performance. Without easy–to-use and data smart systems potential insights and improvements may be lost. Time-consuming reporting to various stakeholders may reduce focus on other important tasks. The latest release of ShipManager includes the Safety Management Reporting module with a new and flexible user interface, increasing efficiency and optimizing processes to improve safety at sea. “Many shipping companies are using one standard form for all types of safety management reporting, which usually does not provide optimal flexibility, oversight and efficiency,” says Rune Lyngaas, Head of Product Management, Maritime Software.

Wah Kwong Ship Management (HK) Limited will adopt DNV GL's ShipManager integrated fleet management software suite to further improve operational efficiency, data transparency and safety reporting. Software Upgrade for Ahrenkiel Steamship Fleet

Ahrenkiel Steamship has chosen to implement DNV GL’s ShipManager software on its entire fleet of 60 vessels. Maersk Line Implements DNV GL ShipManager Software

DNV GL inform that Maersk Line has started the implementation of ShipManager software, with pilot testing on five vessels. The installation of ShipManager on all the vessels in their self-owned fleet is scheduled for next year. According to DNV GL Maersk chose the ShipManager system after a comprehensive selection process with 26 other shipmanagement software vendors globally. “The implementation of ShipManager on the pilot vessels is a major milestone in the project,” says Are Føllesdal Tjønn, Managing Director at DNV GL – Software. “We have a full dedicated team working with Maersk Line on the implementation. All the configurations and settings have been agreed upon,” he says. “The feedback we have received so far from Ebba Maersk, a 15,500 TEU Container Ship, has been very positive.

DNV GL ShipManager for Entire H&P Fleet

Ship Management Software by GL for Held

German shipping company Held chooses GL Shipmanager System for its technical ship services division. The GL ShipManager software facilitates maintenance activities, supports quality and safety management processes and simplifies data and information management. Intelligent data synchronization between office and ship ensures that the same information is available onboard and onshore. The software will be installed in their Haren office and on all vessels. Held's ship management fleet has grown over the last years and today, it comprises 30 vessels, most of which are multi-purpose vessels, but also mini bulkers and container vessels are technically managed by the company.

GL Celebrates 140th Anniversary in New York

Commemorating its 140th anniversary, Germanischer Lloyd celebrated with a gathering in New York. A collection of dignitaries, representatives of shipowners, shipyards, supply industry and administrations of the U.S. maritime area convened at the esteemed New York Yacht Club. In addition, from Nor-Shipping, GL reported that the fleet management program GL ShipManager has its first international clients. Finnish shipping company Oy Langh Ship and Danish company Transmarine Management have entrusted Ms Logistik Systeme, a Germanischer Lloyd Group company, with the implementation of the GL ShipManager in their fleets.
