Thirteen Filipino seafarers, the last of 43 abandoned on two livestock carriers, have made it home after more than five months onboard the Yangtze Harmony.The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) intervened after the ship’s owners abandoned the vessel and its crew in October 2022. At that time, the Singapore Sheriff court seized the Yangtze Harmony on behalf of Glander International Bunkering over an unpaid fuel bill. That began a legal process to sell the ship and pay off its debts…

Glander International Bunkering, one of the industry’s oldest bunker trading and brokering firms, has announced that the group has merged with the Norwegian company Scandinavian Bunkering AS. Scandinavian Bunkering AS. was established in 1993 and as of September 26, 2016 the company will change its name and rebrand to Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS. The merge will give way to a magnitude of new and improved resources on account of the union of two very strong entities, Glander International Bunkering said.

He is the longest serving employee of the Glander International Bunkering Group and has been working from the Dubai office. Glander International Bunkering has hired Carina Baekkegaard as senior bunker and lubricant trader at the company’s Dubai office.    Baekkegaard joins Glander International Bunkering with technical and physical supply knowledge from several years of experience in the bunkering industry. She is familiar with the Middle East and various international ports and speaks Danish, English and German.

Glander International Bunkering continued a series of hires in its Dubai office today, announcing the hiring of Kristian Korsgaard Pedersen as the office's Senior Bunker/Lubricant Trader and Team Leader. On Monday, the company announced the hiring of Luis Cañizales as an office Bunker and Lubricant Trader. Pedersen, originally from Denmark, has worked in the bunker industry for over 16 years. He was the Sales Manager at O.W. Bunker Middle East DMCC when the firm declared bankruptcy in November of 2014 (a bankruptcy now under investigation by Denmark's largest pension fund).
