Deepwater Acreage to Attract Investments

India to Lead Asia New-Build Pipeline Growth

India is expected to lead Asia’s oil and gas new-build trunk/pipeline length additions, contributing around 53 percent of Asia’s planned and announced pipeline length additions between 2019 and 2023.According to a report from GlobalData, India is expected to have new-build pipeline length of 23,360.6 km by 2023.Varun Ette, Oil and Gas Analyst at GlobalData, said: “In India, 42 new-build pipelines are set to start operations by 2023, out of which 29 are planned and remaining 13 are from early-stage announced pipelines. Jagdishpur–Haldia is the longest upcoming pipeline in the country with a length of 2,655.0 km. It is a natural gas pipeline expected to start operations in 2020.

Ocean LNG Leads in Contracted Capacity

Ocean LNG has dominated in terms of long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) import volumes for contracts signed by key purchasing companies for the year 2019, with almost 47% of the global contracted capacity.According to a report by GlobalData, Ocean LNG signed the biggest long-term LNG contract for 2019 with Golden Pass Products. According to the contract, Golden Pass Products will supply Ocean LNG with 15.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for a period of 20 years, from 2024 to 2044.The gas will be supplied from the Golden Pass II LNG liquefaction terminal in Texas, US, it said.Sunrita Dutta, Oil and Gas Analyst at GlobalData, explains: “Ocean LNG is a joint venture (JV) between Qatar Petroleum, which owns a 70% stake, and Exxon Mobil Corporation, with 30%.

US Signs Highest LNG Export Contract

US signed highest volume of global long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG)  export contracts in 2019, accounting for around a 67% of global share. Abundant shale gas production in the US has enabled the country to export natural gas as LNG. to global markets. According to GlobalData, the US has signed five long-term contracts in 2019 for the export of 22.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG. APAC to Fuel Global Wind Power

Global wind power market size increased from $71.6bn in 2010 to $96.4bn in 2018. EGPC Leads Oil, Gas Discoveries in Q3 2019

Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) led globally among companies in the third quarter (Q3) 2019 in terms of the highest number of oil and gas discoveries, said GlobalData.Of the total 38 discoveries made worldwide, EGPC had four, all being onshore discoveries. Brazil to Lead in Global FPSO Deployments

Brazil continues to drive global floating production storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs) deployment with 21 planned and announced FPSOs during the period 2019 to 2025, according to GlobalData.Brazil is expected to deploy a total of 11 planned and ten announced FPSOs by 2025. The crude oil production capacity of these upcoming FPSOs is expected to be 2.5 million barrels per day (mmbd) during the outlook period. US Leads LNG Liquefaction Capacity Growth

The US is forecast to drive new-build, liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction capacity additions globally from planned and announced (new-build) projects between 2019 and 2023, contributing around 73% of global new-build LNG liquefaction capacity growth by 2023, according to a report by GlobalData.The US is expected to account for a new-build LNG liquefaction capacity of 156.9 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) from planned and announced projects by 2023. AMSC Bags Wind Turbine ECS Order from AMSC

The US-based energy solutions provider AMSC announced it has received a $9 million order for its 5.5 MW wind turbine electrical control systems from the Korean power company Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction (DHIC)AMSC signed an agreement with the South Korea’s wind turbine manufacturer in calendar year 2017 for the rights to design and exclusively supply ECS units to Doosan’s 5.5-megawatt offshore wind turbine.The initial 5.5 MW systems were ordered in January 2018, and AMSC expects to complete shipments under this follow-on order by no later than fiscal year 2020.“We believe that this order represents the beginning of Doosan’s transition into volume production with one of the world’s largest offshore wind turbines,” said Daniel P.

Australia Leads FPSO Deployment in AsiaPac
