Remote Working: Tips for Shipping Companies to Sustain Business During the Coronavirus Pandemic

SSI Webinar: ShipConstructor MarineDrafting

As part of its Technical Webinar Series, SSI will host a ShipConstructor MarineDrafting Product webinar on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 8-9 a.m. (PDT). The webinar aims to introduce end-users to this new product and will include a short presentation and live demonstration. A technical lead will be available to answer questions. In a world of 3D design and manufacturing, many activities still need to be supported with 2D drawings during design and throughout the shipyard.

SSI Webinar: ShipConstructor Electrical Product

The SSI Technical Webinar Series' ShipConstructor Electrical Product webinar will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 8-9 a.m. Electrical is a 3D modeling and production system for wireways, cable trays, supports, cables and transits. It features an associative 3D model connecting allocated space to individual wireways, cable trays, supports and subsequent cables. Associative production documentation can be generated from the model including cable pull schedules and reports.

American Public University Live Webinar: Overcoming Maritime Risks

American Public University (APU), part of American Public University System, will host a live webinar on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, to examine best practices for managing regulatory, environmental and operational risks faced by the maritime industry. APU Professor Donald McKay, a noted maritime transportation and logistics expert and Joseph Keefe, managing editor of Maritime Professional, will discuss the financial impact of complex day-to-day challenges – including acts of piracy, catastrophic accidents, natural disasters and the loss of infrastructure resulting in downtime. McKay and Keefe will also present solutions for maintaining a healthy bottom line. 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

NSRP Issues New Research Announcements

The National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) issued a new Research Announcement (RA) on September 24, 2010. The RA is posted on the NSRP website (http://www.nsrp.org/Solicitation/ra0901_solicitation.html), along with associated proposal guidance, forms, and sample contracts. The RA is also being published on FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov). Proposers must submit a project abstract no later than October 25, 2010. Full technical and cost proposals are due no later than 12:00 pm Eastern Time on February 11, 2011. An on-line Proposers Conference using GoToMeeting® has been scheduled for October 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time; access to the conference will be open at 1:30 pm. Details on the Proposers Conference and a required registration form are posted on the NSRP website.

Full technical and cost proposals are due no later than noon on February 12, 2010. An on-line Proposers Conference using GoToMeeting has been scheduled for October 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time; access to the conference will be open at 1:30 pm.
