New Dive Support Vessel Delivered to ADNOC

Grandweld Building New Tugs for Kuwait Ports

Dubai shipbuilder Grandweld Shipyards held a keel laying ceremony for two of total four high-performance TRAktor 2700-Z tugs, on January 26, 2022.The tugs were ordered by Specialities Construction for General Trading and Contracting Company (SCC) and will be operated by Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) in Kuwait’s Shuwaikh Port. Expected to enter service by August 2022, the tugs can perform multiple tasks including ship assist, escort, towing, fire fighting, oil pollution response and others.Robert Allan Ltd.

Stanford Marine Orders Two Crew Boats from Grandweld

Grandweld shipyard has won a contract with offshore support vessel firm Stanford Marine to build two 42-meter GrandSuperior crew boats with the keel-laying ceremony recently completed. These are Grandweld’s 11th and 12th vessels built for Stanford Marine.Jamal Abki, General Manager of Grandweld Shipyards said “In 2021, we have secured multiple shipbuilding contracts worth $30 million. Although 2020 was difficult for the industry as a whole, we saw a surge in business. This has continued in 2021 and we now have a solid order book until the end of 2022.

Grandweld Delivers Four Crewboats for HSM

UAE shipbuilder Grandweld Shipyards reports it has delivered four crew boats for Saudi-based offshore oil and gas services provider High Seas Marine Industrial Services Co. (HSM).The newbuilds were handed over within a span of 14 months, despite the numerous challenges of the pandemic. Grandweld Shipyards Announces Solid 2018

UAE-based Grandweld Shipyards said that it has closed a number of deals, as part of its landmark milestones achieved during 2018.Grandweld’s latest achievement was highlighted with the signing of two new contracts; One with Wesal Shipping, and the second with Mars Marine Services, said a press release from the company. Grandweld Delivers Four Crew Boats to KOC

Grandweld Shipbuilding Grows in Middle East

United Arab Emirates shipyard Grandweld has secured its position as the number one regional shipyard for the offshore segment, completing construction of a total of 17 vessels over the space of the last year. Latest projects include advanced crew boats, dive maintenance and support vessels, and work crane boats for a who’s who of Middle East energy firms and offshore contractors. Grandweld, which has been operating from its Dubai base since 1984, specializes in vessels custom built to conduct complex operations in the region’s challenging offshore environment.

Grandweld Delivers Third of Six Hybrid Seismic Support Vessels

Grandweld Shipyards has completed the delivery of Bourbon Gannet, the third Hybrid Seismic Support Vessel in a series of six for Bourbon Offshore. The vessel was handed over in a delivery ceremony held on Saturday November 23, 2013 at Grandweld facilities at Dubai Maritime City. The 54-meter , 50 tons bollard pull vessel will be operated by CGG to assist in seismic operations such as chasing, towing, storage and transport of offshore supplies and crew. Bourbon Petrel and Bourbon Fulmar, sister vessels of Bourbon Gannet and previously delivered by Grandweld as part of the same newbuild contract with Bourbon, are fully operational and already in service and are operating in Europe.

Grandweld to Build Third Crewboat for Khalid Faraj

Grandweld Shipyards secured a repeat order worth $5 million (USD) to build a 42-meter aluminum crewboat for Khalid Faraj Shipping. This is the third order received by Grandweld from Khalid Faraj over the last five months. The contract signing took place at Middle East Workboats Conference and Exhibition held in Abu Dhabi on October 1, 2013. Jamal Abki, general manager if Grandweld Shipyards, explained, the 42-meter fast aluminum boat is based on Grandweld’s existing design. The vessel is capable of reaching speeds upwards of 26 knots.

Middle East Expo Sees More Deals Struck

After a record-breaking opening day at the Middle East Workboats & Offshore Marine 2013, when six new contracts were signed on site, more were to follow, including a crew boat construction order for Grandweld. The Middle East’s largest shipbuilder Grandweld Shipyards secured a repeat order worth AED18.35 million to build a new 42 metre aluminum crew boat for Khalid Faraj Shipping. This is the third order received by Grandweld from Khalid Faraj Shipping over the last five months. “The crew boat is based on Grandweld’s existing proven design, and can reach speeds in excess of 26 knots.

A steel cutting ceremony to signify the commencement of the construction of the first of four new class Crane/Workboats for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) was held at Grandweld Shipyards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on July 18, 2013. The contract was signed in February 2013, to design and build a series of four heavy-duty Crane / Workboat class vessels for Kuwait Oil Company. The ceremony was attended by KOC senior management team led by Mr. Hasan Al Bairami, Manager- Marine Operations. Grandweld’s Crane/Workboats are designed to meet the specific needs of KOC.

Grandweld Delivers Two Crewboats to Fujairah

Grandweld Shipyards has completed the delivery of two 33.5-meter Aluminum crew boats for Fujairah National Group. According to the builder, FNSA 1 and FNSA 2, sister vessels of the 33.5-meter class boats, are an optimized version of the in-house design that is built to assist in fast transfer of offshore personnel, deck cargo and liquid payload. The vessels will be operated by Inchcape Shipping Services LLC in different regions worldwide. FNSA 1 is currently working on a project in Mozambique in the East African coast, while FNSA 2 is currently working in Dubai.

Dubai's Grandweld Shipyard to Build Zamil Crewboat

Grandweld Shipyards has been awarded a repeat order from Zamil Offshore, to build a new 33.5M fast aluminum crew boat. This will be Zamil’s fourth order to Grandweld Shipyards after the successful delivery of three sister vessels in 2012. The new vessel will be based on Grandweld’s in –house superior design, and will be powered by 3 high speed diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers to produce speeds in excess of 25 knots. The 33.5M will be designed and built according to the classification rules and requirements of Bureau Veritas for Aluminum vessels. The vessel will be utilized to transport personnel and support offshore oil & gas operations. According to the contract, the vessel is scheduled for delivery in June 2014.

Dubai-based Grandweld Shipyards, has secured a contract worth over $21 million from the Mexico-based COTEMAR, to design and build four 42-meter Fast Aluminum Crew Boats. The world-class reputable design 42m crew boat will be fitted with EPA Tier 3 compliant main engines, and advanced navigation equipment to meet the client’s specific needs. The vessels are designed to reach speeds in excess of 26 knots. They benefit from luxury seating, accommodation for VIP guests, a larger deck space and enhanced comfort for the crew.

Dubai-based Shipbuilder Grandweld Shipyards has signed a contract to design, build and deliver 33.5-meter Fast Aluminum Crew boat for LIWA Marine Services LLC, Abu Dhabi. The contract was signed on April 9, 2013. The 33.5-meter crew boat will be designed by Grandweld Shipyards and will be powered by three high-speed diesel engines driving three fixed pitch propellers to reach speeds in excess of 25 knots. The vessel can seat 60 passengers, and will have 80 square meters of deck cargo area.

Grandweld Wins Crew Boat Contract

Grandweld Shipyards has been awarded a contract to build a 42M Aluminum Crew Boat for Maroos Shipping. Grandweld signed the deal with the renowned provider of integrated shipping, and marine services on the 10th March 2013. The contract follows previous delivery of a 38M Utility Vessel to Maroos Shipping in March 2012. The new 42M Aluminum Crew Boat is based on Grandweld’s existing proven design, and can reach speeds in excess of 25 knots. Grandweld to Build Four Crane/Workboats for KOC

Grandweld Shipyards has signed a contract with Kuwait Oil Company to design and build a series of four crane/workboat class vessels. The contract is valued at a total of USD $50 million over the duration of the build. Grandweld’s crane/workboats are designed and built in-house to meet the specific needs of KOC's requirements; these state of the art vessels are designed to undertake tasks such as lifting and moving heavy equipment, oil pollution control, SBM hose handling, FO/FW supply, and other related duties. Each vessel comes with a crane capable of lifting 20 tons at 10 meters radius.

Grandweld Delivers Aluminum Crew Boat

Grandweld Shipyards delievered “Zamil 101” the first of three fast aluminum crew boats to Zamil Offshore. The vessel was part of a contract, which was signed in November 2011, to build and deliver three sister crew boats. The 33.5m fast crew boat is powered by 3 high speed diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers to produce a speed of 27 Knots. The vessel is designed and built according to the classification rules and requirements of Bureau Veritas for Aluminum vessels. The vessel will be utilized to transport offshore personnel and cargo, and will be operating offshore Saudi Arabia.

Keel Laying Ceremony for Global Marine Three Aluminum Crew Boats

On November 1, 2012, Grandweld Shipyards has celebrated the keel laying of the three new 42M Aluminum Crew Boats for the repeat client Global Marine. The contract was signed in August 2012 following the successful delivery of the three sister crew boats in 2011. The series is a heavily modified version of the 41M, and is designed to reach a speed in excess of 25 knots and incorporates luxury seating, accommodation for VIP guests, larger deck space and enhanced comfort for the crew. The vessel features a total seating capacity for 83 passengers, 110sqm loading area for over 90 Tons of deck cargo handled by a deck crane, fire fighting capability, bulk cement handling, in addition to the capacity of carrying large amount of fuel and freshwater.

Grandweld Shipyards Awarded Contract for Wesal Shipping

Grandweld Shipyards has been awarded a new contract to build 42M Aluminum Crew Boat for Wesal Shipping which was signed on the 9th October 2012. This contract follows the successful delivery of the 41M Aluminum Crew Boat which Grandweld delivered to Wesal Shipping early in October 2010. The 42M Aluminum Crew Boat is a heavily modified version of the 41M, and is designed to reach a speed in excess of 25 knots and includes luxury seating, accommodation for VIP guests, larger deck space and enhanced comfort for the crew.
