Götheborg to Sail Again

The Swedish East Indiaman Götheborg will sail again with support from the shipping agency Greencarrier Group, which has announced that it will take the full operational and financial responsibility for the ship for the next two years.The Nordic's largest privately-owned transport company said in a press release that it is underwriting the sailing of the East Indiaman Götheborg replica from its home at the Port of Gothenburg.According to the sources, the ship is a copy of the East Indiaman that ran aground in 1745 and sank at Hunnebådan at the entrance to the port. Halonen Named COO, Greencarrier Freight Services

Greencarrier Freight Services has promoted Jarmo Halonen to the role of Chief Operating Officer, with combined responsibility for the company’s air, ocean, road and rail freight activities. This is the first time the four modes have been brought under the control of one director. Partnership Eyes Reduced CO2 Emissions

Logistics company Greencarrier Freight Service and shipping company CMA-CGM Scandinavia have initiated a long-term collaboration project to cut joint CO2 emissions by 30 percent by 2020. The partners aim to achieve this goal through the development of new and sustainable logistics solutions that will also be made available on the market. One example is a joint solution involving sea transport to Gothenburg and further transport to Torsvik, where trucks have now been replaced by rail transport. This change has resulted in a 70 persent reduction in CO2 emissions.

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics and Kestrel Liner Agencies are now working in partnership to offer a full range of logistics services between Scandinavia and the Caribbean and Latin America. Kestrel Liner Agencies has appointed Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics (SSL), an independent full service agency based in Sweden, as its agent in Sweden, Norway and Finland. SSL, owned by the Swedish Greencarrier Group and the German company Menzell & Döhle, specializes in liner agency, port agency, freight agency, forwarding and project logistics. Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AS is changing its name to Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics AS with effect from 2, September 2013. Greencarrier Group, one of the Nordic region’s largest privately-owned transport companies, acquired Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics in 2011 as part of its long- term strategy to expand its services, both in the region and globally. Greencarrier Freight to Cooperate With Ekol Logistics

Greencarrier Freight Services has signed a cooperation agreement with Turkey’s leading logistics company, Ekol Logistics. The agreement covers Sweden, the Baltic states and Turkey, and will provide a range of services for Greencarrier customers having a need for transportation services between these two regions. Greencarrier to Open in Denmark

The Gothenburg-headquartered logistics specialist Greencarrier will open its first office in Denmark with the renaming on March 1, 2010 of the recently acquired NTN Denmark A/S. To be known in future as Greencarrier Denmark A/S, the company is based in Copenhagen where it has two offices, one in Herlev and one in Glostrup. Denmark. Tel: +45 44 88 10 20. Greencarrier has been expanding its presence throughout Scandinavia and the Baltic region and the creation of Greencarrier Denmark fills a gap in its coverage. Fellestransport Part of Greencarrier Norway

With effect from 1 November 2009, the Norwegian freight forwarder AS Fellestransport will change its name to Greencarrier Norway and merge its activities with those of the existing company Greencarrier Norway. All of its staff will become Greencarrier employees so providing the company’s existing clients with the benefit of service continuity. Niklas Olsson, Managing Director of GreenCarrier Sweden AB, has also been appointed Managing Director and CEO of GreenCarrier International with effect from 1 June, 2009. With the Nordic countries and the Baltic States as home markets, GreenCarrier provides forwarding and logistics services, based on the concept of one contact person for all types of transportation all around the world. GreenCarrier International is a key member of the Björk.Eklund Group. Olsson has been with the group since 1987 and became Managing Director of GreenCarrier Sweden in 2004. The GreenCarrier team is also being strengthened at a senior level by the addition of Ulf Sundberg, who was formerly Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel Sweden.

FCS Logistics Renamed GreenCarrier Finland

The IATA approved Finnish forwarding company Oy FCS Logistics Ltd has been renamed GreenCarrier Finland Oy, with effect from 23 February, 2009. All contact details will be unchanged with the exception of e-mail addresses, which will adopt the style [email protected]. The company’s new website address will be www.greencarrier.com. FCS Logistics was acquired by the Gothenburg-headquartered logistics specialist GreenCarrier International in June 2008 as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in the Nordic region. Founded in 1995, FCS offers international air and sea container transport services and as an IATA approved forwarder, the company has contracts with major airlines around the world. It also offers charter transport and on-board courier services.

For much of his career has been involved with the Sweden-China trade and has considerable knowledge of both the Swedish market and its corporate culture. GreenCarrier, NVO Transport BV Sign Transport Agreement

GreenCarrier, the logistics arm of the Swedish-headquartered Björk.Eklund Group, has signed an exclusive transport agreement with NVO Transport BV, based in Groningen. NVO is one of the Netherlands’ leading haulage companies and has 40 years’ experience in the transport of goods to and from Scandinavia. The agreement will reportedly allow GreenCarrier to offer several departures to and from the Netherlands per day.
