WiseTech Global Acquires Xware

Global logistics software group, WiseTech Global has announced the acquisition of Xware, a messaging integration solutions provider in Sweden.Xware’s secure, interoperable messaging solution, xTrade, is designed to link organisations to their suppliers and partners, allowing them to safely share information across application to application, business to business, managed file transfers, business process management and IoT ̶  essential for real-time messaging, queued business flows and data integration. Halonen Named COO, Greencarrier Freight Services

Greencarrier Freight Services has promoted Jarmo Halonen to the role of Chief Operating Officer, with combined responsibility for the company’s air, ocean, road and rail freight activities. This is the first time the four modes have been brought under the control of one director. Greencarrier Freight Services, one of the Nordic region’s largest privately owned companies specialising in global transport solutions, has been growing steadily and now employs 625 people in 13 countries.

Partnership Eyes Reduced CO2 Emissions

Logistics company Greencarrier Freight Service and shipping company CMA-CGM Scandinavia have initiated a long-term collaboration project to cut joint CO2 emissions by 30 percent by 2020. The partners aim to achieve this goal through the development of new and sustainable logistics solutions that will also be made available on the market. One example is a joint solution involving sea transport to Gothenburg and further transport to Torsvik, where trucks have now been replaced by rail transport. This change has resulted in a 70 persent reduction in CO2 emissions.

Greencarrier Freight Services’ business has strengthened its position in the energy and project forwarding markets by achieving management (ISO 9001) and environmental (ISO 14001) certification for its Energy & Project Business Unit. “As a new and relatively small company in the oil and gas and project logistics industries, we have to produce a level of quality, personal service and knowledge that exceeds what the competition is doing,” said Georg Skivik Moltu, Director Energy & Projects and Head of HSE & QA, Greencarrier.

Greencarrier Rebrands Subsidiary, Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AS is changing its name to Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics AS with effect from 2, September 2013. Greencarrier Group, one of the Nordic region’s largest privately-owned transport companies, acquired Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics in 2011 as part of its long- term strategy to expand its services, both in the region and globally. Øyvind Lygre, CEO of Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics AS, says most of the companies in the group are already branded ‘Greencarrier’.

Greencarrier Freight to Cooperate With Ekol Logistics

Greencarrier Freight Services has signed a cooperation agreement with Turkey’s leading logistics company, Ekol Logistics. The agreement covers Sweden, the Baltic states and Turkey, and will provide a range of services for Greencarrier customers having a need for transportation services between these two regions. Björk.Eklund Group Renamed Greencarrier AB

Following the renaming of the Björk.Eklund Group to Greencarrier AB, its founders Stefan Björk (left) and Björn Eklund (right), will continue to hold the positions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer respectively.

The Björk.Eklund Group is changing its name to Greencarrier AB with effect from 1 February 2012. Previously the Greencarrier name had only been used by companies that formed part of Greencarrier Freight Services, the division of the Björk.Eklund Group offering customised logistics and transport solutions worldwide.
