Maersk Lines Up More Green Methanol Fuel Supply in the US

India's Largest Container Port Trying to Recover from Cyber Attack

The National Cyber Security Coordinator Dr Gulshan Rai visited Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) to assess the impact of the global cyber attack that has disrupted the operations of one of the container terminals at the port. He, together with Chief Commissioner Customs and Excise, Chairman-JNPT and Inspector General-Cyber Maharashtra held discussions with the officials of GTI Terminal, DP World and officials of JNPT. JNPT handles container traffic through four terminals. One of the Terminal(GTI) is operated by APM Moller Maersk, a Danish company with headquarter at Copenhagen. Two other terminals - NSICT and NSIGT, are operated by DP World and the fourth terminal JNPCT is operated directly by JNPT.

Crowley Offers LNG Training at JaxPort

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently participated as one of several Gas Technology Institute (GTI) funding collaborators to bring liquefied natural gas (LNG) awareness training to 150 stakeholders and first responders in Jacksonville. CFSAI Shifts to New Office in New Mumbai

Container Freight Station Association of India (CFSAI) has set up a full-fledged Secretariat and moved to its new office at “Anchorage Building” in Dronagiri  Node on 26th August 2015. Strike Ends at Mumbai's GTI Container Terminal

Contract workers at an Indian port in the commercial capital Mumbai have called off their nearly a week-long strike that backed up more than 25,000 containers of commodities such as sugar, pulses and rapeseed meal. JNPort Takes Steps to Regularise Traffic - GTI Shutdown

As Gateway Terminals India (GTI) (one of the private terminal at JNPort, a JV between APM Terminals (APMT) and state-owned rail operator Container Corporation of India) is facing shutdown in operations due to the strike of contractor's employees engaged by Cargotek handling yard crane operations demanding their absorption in GTI pay roll, JNPort has made an all-out effort to regularise the traffic in and around the port. Some of the vessels meant for APMT terminal is being handled at neighbouring terminal of NSICT and NSIGT and JNPCT is handling the reefer export cargoes of GTI. In order to handle these additional vessels over and above their own window vessels, there was lot of pressure on the gates of these terminals and the queue of export Boxes had become long.

RPG Acquires Gen Turbo Inc.

Resource Power Group (RPG) acquired the assets of Gen Turbo Inc., a supplier of parts and services for large bore diesel engine turbochargers in Miami, FL. Gen Turbo Inc. (GTI) is recognized in the industry for delivering to it’s customers a combination of affordable, high quality, and highly technical turbocharger services. Genato Samson and Celso Villanueva, the founders of  GTI, are considered to be experts with ABB, KBB, and Napier type turbochargers. Mr. Samson was previously employed by ABB turbocharger as a Service Engineer and an ABB turbocharger Workshop Manager. He will assume the role of RPG’s Turbocharger Workshop and Sales Manager. Mr. Villanueva was previously employed by MaK as a Service and Commissioning Engineer.

GTI Orders 11 Kalmar E-One+ RTGs

Kalmar Industries, part of Cargotec Corporation, has made an agreement to supply eleven of its E-One+ rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to Gateway Terminals India (GTI) at . This latest order, delivery of which will commence in January 2009, follows on from a contract to supply GTI with 29 E-One RTGs delivered in 2006.

Audacia: Innovation at Great Depths

The offshore vessel, the Audacia, is set to sail soon. With a length of 738 ft. (225 m), the Audacia is a deep-sea pipelay vessel that can be qualified as large to gigantic. It is the first vessel that lays out the pipeline over the bow. Two years of conversion preceded its May 8 christening. During that time, Imtech Marine & Offshore among others converted a huge bulk carrier into an advanced offshore vessel: a superb performance in terms of the time it took to complete the project and the application of innovative techniques. Imtech Marine & Offshore received the commission from Allseas, a leader in the installation of offshore oil and gas pipelines. In a partnership with GTI, the complete installation was projected and completed with 300,000 manhours.

Barco and Fabricom GTI Team Up

Barco, together with Fabricom GTI, has been selected to install a Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) system, including new radars, for the port of Antwerp. This port project, which was commissioned by the Flemish Agency for Maritime Services and Coast, Shipping Assistance Division and by the port of Antwerp, has a total contract value of 4.2 million euro. Barco's component-based VTS technology will offer Antwerp’s VTS operators an innovative and reliable traffic control system and will significantly enhance the safety at Europe’s second largest port.
