MAN to Supply Propulsion for World’s Largest Car Carriers

Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) has received an order for four MAN B&W 8S60ME-GI engines in connection with the building of four 10,800 CEU pure car and truck carriers (PCTC) for South Korean shipping owner, HMM Co. Ltd.CSIC Diesel Engine Co. GSI Completes 13-vessel Series for Stena Bulk

The final vessel has been named in a series of 13 chemical and product tankers ordered by Stena Bulk at the Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) shipyard. The 50,000 dwt MR tanker Stena Impero was named on Wednesday in Guangzhou, China, completing a series of newbuilds ordered at Chinese shipyard GSI in 2012 for SEK 4 billion ($508 million). Erik Hånell, president and CEO of Stena Bulk, said, “With the delivery of the Stena Impero, the IMOIIMAX fleet is now complete, in line with the order, and is a significant and competitive addition to our high-quality fleet.

Digital Naming of Stena Immortal

The digital naming of the MR tanker Stena Immortal took place January 18 at Stena's new office in Hellerup in the north of Copenhagen. The 50,000 dwt Stena Immortal was built at the Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) shipyard in southeast China and is jointly owned on a 50-50 basis by Stena Bulk and Indonesian Golden Agri Resources (GAR). Following her delivery in September 2016, the 183-meter-long tanker has sailed in one of Stena Bulk's global logistics systems, which currently employ some 60 vessels, with a focus on refined petroleum products, vegetable oils and chemicals. When the Stena Immortal was named, it was not physically present in Copenhagen but in Houston where it is already in service.

Double Naming Ceremony for Stena Bulk at GSI

Two newly built vessels owned by Stena Bulk, Stena Imperator and sister ship Stena Imprimis, were named side by side at the Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) in Guangzhou in southeast China. The two godmothers – for the Stena Imperator, Ylva Syrén Carlsson and for the Stena Imprimis, Denise Baum – wished the vessels, their captains and crews fortune and prosperity on the seven seas and swung the bottles of champagne against the tankers’ bows. MR Tanker Stena Impeccable Named in Rotterdam

The latest IMOIIMAX tanker to be delivered, Stena Impeccable, was officially named during a ceremony in the Port of Rotterdam. The vessel’s godmother was Trintje Margaretha Oosters, from Dutch RVB Company with which Stena Bulk and Stena Weco have a long-lasting relationship. The Stena Impeccable was delivered at the beginning of March this year after which she sailed from China to Australia with a cargo of caustic soda. She then sailed with a cargo of vegetable oil from New Guinea via Singapore and the Suez Canal to Rotterdam.

The MR tanker Stena Imagination was named in the Port Rashid Terminal in the heart of Dubai. According to Erik Hånell, President & CEO of Stena Bulk and CEO of Stena Weco, “Naming the Stena Imagination in Dubai is very much a strategic choice. Stena Bulk recently opened an office here together with Stena Weco and Golden Stena Weco. We already had a presence in the market in the region but wanted to get even closer to our customers. Stena’s tanker business already has a presence in the area with contacts in the neighboring region.

Stena Impeccable Delivered to Stena Bulk

Sten Bulk has taken delivery of Stena Impeccable, the 10th of 13 new IMOIIMAX tankers ordered from Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) in China.   The tanker, which is wholly owned by Stena Bulk, will be operated by Stena Weco and will sail in the company’s logistics system, which currently employs more than 60 vessels.   The chemical and product tanker Stena Impeccable has a length of 183 meters, a beam of 32 meters and a deadweight of 50,000 tons.

MR Tanker Stena Immaculate Named in China

The Stena Immaculate, the ninth vessel in a series of 13 new IMOIIMAX MR tankers, was named January 10, 2017 at a ceremony at China’s Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI). A large number of guests, from both corporate management and partners as well as representatives of the shipyard had gathered on the quayside to attend the naming ceremony. IMOIIMAX Tanker Stena Immortal Delivered

The Stena Immortal was delivered yesterday from the Chinese shipyard GSI (Guangzhou Shipbuilding International) in southeast China. The vessel is jointly owned on a 50-50 basis by Stena Bulk and Indonesian Golden Agri Resources (GAR) and is the eighth of a total of 13 IMOIIMAX tankers ordered by Stena Bulk in 2012. She will be operated by Stena Weco and will sail in the company’s global logistics system, which currently employs about 60 vessels. 2016: The Stena Imperative, Stenaweco Impulse and Stena Imagination.

Chinese shipyard GSI (Guangzhou Shipbuilding International) has delivered the newly built MR tanker Stena Imagination to 50-50 joint owners Stena Bulk and Indonesian Golden Agri Resources (GAR). She will be operated by Stena Weco and sail in the company’s global logistics system, which currently employs about 60 vessels. Stena Imagination is the seventh of 13 IMOIIMAX tankers ordered by Stena Bulk. Three of the 13 IMOIIMAX tankers are wholly owned by Stena Bulk, six together with GAR, two by Stena Bulk’s sister company Concordia Maritime and two by Stena Weco.

Danish Princess Names Stenaweco Impulse

Newly built chemical and product tanker Stenaweco Impulse was named by H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, whobroke a bottle of champagne against the tanker’s bow and wished the vessel, her captain and his crew fortune and prosperity. Named on Monday at a cerempny at Langelinie Pier in the center of Copenhagen, Stenaweco Impulse is the newest vessel owned by Stena Weco, a joint venture between Swedish Stena Bulk and Danish Weco Shipping for the transport of vegetable oils, chemicals and petroleum products.

Chemical/Product Tanker Delivered to Concordia Maritime

A 50,000 dwt IMOIIMAX MR tanker, Stena Important, was delivered to Concordia Maritime October 15, from the Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) in Guangzhou. The vessel is part of a series of 10 vessels, two of which are owned by Concordia Maritime. The chemical and product tanker can transport both oil and petroleum products as well as vegetable oils and chemicals. The Stena Important will arrive at a port in Europe for discharge at the beginning of December, upon which her naming ceremony is planned to take place.

A new 50,000 DWT MR chemical and product tanker based on the IMOIIMAX concept, Stena Imperial, was named yesterday in Savannah, Ga. Built by Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) and delivered on July 1, Stena Imperial recently arrived in Savannah on the U.S. East Coast with a cargo of palm oil. The new ship is owned by a joint venture of which Stena Bulk and Indonesian Golden Agri Resources (GAR) each own 50 percent. She is the third of 10 vessels ordered by Stena Bulk for a total of $400 million with delivery to be completed by 2017.

Next Gen Tankers Delivered to Concordia Maritime

Concordia Maritime’s first chemical and product tanker based on the IMOIIMAX concept, the Stena Image, was delivered from the Chinese shipyard GSI (Guangzhou Shipbuilding International) in Guangzhou. The vessel, a 50,000 dwt MR tanker, is equipped with 18 tanks of the same size, each with a capacity of 3,000 m3, able to load vegetable oils and chemicals as well as petroleum products. The technical design has enabled fuel consumption, when sailing at service speed, to be reduced by 10-20% compared with other vessels of the same size.

Concordia Maritime Orders Tankers

Concordia Maritime signed a contract with Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI), China for the delivery of two chemical parcel tankers of approx. 50,000 dwt at the end of 2014/beginning of 2015. The investment amounts to around $78.6m and the intention is to employ the vessels in the open market via its partner Stena Weco. The vessels are part of a series of six tankers designed by Stena Weco and Stena Bulk and developed by Stena Teknik together with GSI. During the development work, the focus has been on energy efficiency and cargo flexibility.

Fairstar Heavy Transport Takes Fleet Finance Loan

Fairstar Heavy Transport N.V. (FAIR) has signed a USD 247 million syndicated loan facility led by ING Bank. The facility provides the necessary liquidity to satisfy the outstanding payment obligations to Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) due under the construction contracts for the 50,000 DWT semi-submersible vessels FORTE and FINESSE. In addition, the facility provides Fairstar with a USD 20 million tranche for the performance bonds required under the Gorgon, Ichthys and Golden Eagle contracts.

Keel Laid for Fairstar Semi-Submersible Finesse

Fairstar Heavy Transport N.V. announces that the keel for the 50,000DWT semi-submersible vessel FINESSE was laid into the dry dock facility in Qidong, China where Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) in constructing both the FORTE and the FINESSE for Fairstar. Willem Out, Fairstar's Chief Operating Officer, commented from Qidong: "With the FORTE now floating at quayside, the FINESSE is now underway in the dry-dock. 240 blocks of the 272 total required for this design have been constructed and delivered to the shipyard.
