Caribbean Fantasy Fire Extinguished
A fire that broke out aboard the passenger vessel Caribbean Fantasy at 7:42 a.m. on August 17 has been extinguished, and the vessel has been moored safely in port. The Caribbean Fantasy is covered under Ardent’s OPA-90, Salvage and Marine Fire Fighting “SMFF” coverage program. Prior to Ardent operations, the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the vessel, and successfully evacuated more than 500 passengers and crew members. “We did a dive survey of the vessel at sea, found that there was minimal damage to the hull, and brought her to port with the USCG’s approval.
Wrecked Bulker’s Bow Refloated, Scuttled off S.Africa
TITAN Salvage, Crowley Maritime Corp.'s Houston-based marine salvage, emergency response and wreck removal company, has refloated and scuttled the largest section of the wrecked bulk carrier, Smart. Titan Refloats the Monongahela
Leveraging the strength of Titan's 300-metric ton linear hydraulic pullers, Titan safely refloated the Monongahela, a decommissioned tanker ship on the James River in Virginia last week. TITAN Completes Work on Grounded Tanker
During the early morning hours of February 21, 2009, TITAN Salvage was notified by the Marine Response Alliance (MRA) of the grounding of the Yasa Golden Dardanelles, a tanker, off the coast of Galveston, Tex. The tanker was fully laden with approximately 620,000 barrels of fuel oil onboard. TITAN responded by mobilizing a response team consisting of TITAN Salvage Master, Guy Wood, an assistant salvage master and a naval architect, who all arrived on site later the same day.
