SMM 2024 Exhibition Halls Already Nearly Fully Booked

The SMM 2024 trade show will run from September 3-6 this year, and organizers are expecting more visitors and exhibitors than last time; the exhibition halls are nearly fully booked.“We are expecting more than 2,000 international exhibitors from 70 nations,” says Claus Ulrich Selbach, Business Unit Director Maritime and Technology Fairs & Exhibitions at Hamburg Messe und Congress. “We are overwhelmed by the response. The new Ocean Signal E101V float-free EPIRB with integrated voyage data recorder (VDR) memory capsule is designed according to the latest VDR performance standards as a leading solution for commercial vessels of 3000+ gross tonnage. Developed in collaboration with VDR specialist AMI Marine, the E101V is Cospas Sarsat and MED certified and approved to IEC61097-2 as a float-free EPIRB with built-in memory capsule. Survitec's Evacuation Systems in Focus at SMM

Survitec Group is promoting its range of Marine Evacuation Systems (MES) at SMM 2014. The company said it can supply systems to suit every type of vessel, from small high speed ferries through to mid-sized passenger ships, large ROPAX and cruise ships. In 1979 the group launched the world's first MES. Since then, Survitec has continued to develop its MES range. It now includes systems manufactured under the RFD, SurvitecZodiac, DSB, RFD Toyo, DBC and Brude brand names. The DSB Cat-Slide MES, Brude KOPAS and SurvitecZodiac Evacuation Slide systems are designed principally for smaller ferries and passenger vessels with low freeboards. Easy to operate, these systems can typically be deployed with minimal input from the ship's crew.

PALFINGER Sells Offshore Crane Package to Aker Solutions

PALFINGER MARINE has sold a package of three travelling cranes and two foldable knuckle boom cranes to Aker Solutions for the use at the Mariner platform. The Mariner platform will be established at the Mariner field, which is located on the East Shetland Platform of the U.K. North Sea. The main operator of the field is Statoil. Production is expected to commence in 2017. The platform will convey an average of 55,000 barrels of oil per day. PALFINGER DREGGEN is delivering two TKU25 underslung travelling cranes with a safe working load (SWL) of 25 t and a span of 14 m and one TKU75 underslung travelling crane with SWL of 75 t and a 14 m span as well. Both cranes are DNV certified. The TKU75 is designed to transfer the blowout preventer (BOP) and its subassemblies.

Survitec to Display Growing Portfolio at SMM

Visitors to SMM 2014 will be able to find out more about Survitec Group's growing portfolio of products and services for the cruise, ferry, cargo, tanker and offshore shipping markets. At this year's show Survitec will be highlighting its RFD, SurvitecZodiac, DSB, DBC and Brude Marine Evacuation Systems (MES), Crewsaver lifejackets, Brude telescopic gangways and Brude fast rescue boats like the HD 720. Survitec will also be promoting its Global Liferaft Hire program, which leverages the largest service network of any liferaft manufacturer in the world.

Survitec to Exhibit Escape Slides at SMM

Survitec Group announced that it will showcase its SurvitecZodiac range of escape slides and liferafts at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg as part of the Survitec Group Stand (Hall B5, Booth 324) and will include presentations of what the company calls the most advanced escape slide systems on the market. Notable among these is the fully automatic ESS (Escape Slide System) MES escape slide system that can be launched at the touch of a button and made ready for use without any crew involvement.
