Conrad Reports First Quarter 2002 Results

Conrad Industries, Inc. compared to net income of $951,000 and earnings per diluted share of $0.13 for the three months ended March 31, 2001. Revenues for the three months ended March 31, 2002 were $10.6 million compared to $11.9 million for the three months ended March 31, 2001. The company's backlog was $11.3 million at March 31, 2002 as compared to $10.4 million at December 31, 2001 and $13.2 million at March 31, 2001. Gross profit was $2.1 million (19.8% of revenue) for the three months ended March 31, 2002 as compared to gross profit of $2.8 million (23.3% of revenue) for the three months ended March 31, 2001. Bollinger Delivers 1,734-ft. Worth Of Barge

Bollinger Marine Fabricators earned a place in the record books in June with the delivery of seven barges totaling 1,734 ft. (528.5 m). The yard's workscope includes four double hull barges delivered to Raleigh, N.C.-based PCS Phosphate; a double skin barge to Harbor Fuel Service in Puerto Rico; and a pair of split hull dumps scows, which went to Donjon Marine of Hillside, N.J. Each of the four barges built for PCS measure 260 x 14 ft. (79.2 x 4.2 m) with a 52-ft. (15.8 m) beam. The covered bulk hopper barges are equipped to carry 3,000 metric tons each of phosphate rock. The Harbor Fuel Services double tank barge, named Millennium is 214 x 12 ft. (65.2 x 3.6 m) with a 54-ft. (16.9 m) beam.

San Pedro Fuel Distributor Assumes Responsibility for Harbor Cleanup

The Jankovich Company, a San Pedro, Calif. based fuel and lubricant distributor, assumed financial responsibility of the estimated 210-gallon Los Angeles Harbor fuel spill clean up. The Coast Guard and California Department of Fish and Game, Office of Spill Prevention and Response will continue to monitor recovery operations being conducted by Patriot Environmental Services. The clean up is expected to be completed by Wednesday afternoon. Under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, assuming financial responsibility is not an admission of fault. The actual source and cause of the fuel spill remains under investigation.

Delivers First of Four to ConocoPhillips

Conoco, Inc's Domestic Marine Division, Houston, Texas has taken delivery of the first of four 75-ft. by 30-ft. by 10-ft. towboats that feature design, safety and environmental improvements over existing vessels working the inland waterways and the ICWW. Conoco, Inc., merged with Phillip Petroleum Company on August 30, 2002 to form ConocoPhillips a company with $75 billion in assets. The Conoco Marine Division has seven towboats and 14 barges. These 2,000 hp twin-screw vessels are being built by Orange Shipbuilding, Orange, Texas, a division of Conrad Industries of Morgan City, La. and will replace older vessels.
