U.S.-based offshore vessel owner Harvey Gulf International Marine has said that Philip Luongo, a New York native and graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, has joined the company. After graduating Kings Point, Luongo upgraded his Unlimited U.S. Coast Guard License by sailing on deep sea vessels and operating production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Luongo then transitioned shore side where he worked for BP for nine years, holding various leadership roles supporting the U.S Gulf of Mexico, Angola, Trinidad, Canada, and Brazil.

SailPlan Helps Harvey Gulf Cut Offshore Vessel Emissions

U.S. offshore vessel operator Harvey Gulf International Marine has signed an agreement with SailPlan, the maritime cleantech company that reduces ship emissions, to add SailPlan to its fleet.SailPlan is an emissions monitoring and optimization platform that combines the real-time engine, fuel, and navigational data from vessels with the weather, mapping, infrastructure, and traffic data to benchmark, optimize, and report fleet emissions.According to Sailplan, Harvey Gulf has already seen quantifiable emissions reductions beginning with the Harvey Power, a  310-foot Platform Supply Vessel.

ABS Grants SUSTAIN 1 Notation for Harvey Gulf OSV Pair

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has granted its ABS SUSTAIN 1 Notation for two Harvey Gulf International Marine offshore support vessels, recognizing how their design and operation are aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).To earn the notation, the Harvey Blue-Sea and Harvey Sub-Sea vessels were among 12 of the Harvey Gulf fleet evaluated by ABS for their performance against six of the UNSDG’s criteria. Harvey Gulf Adds Second Tri-fueled Vessel with Real Time Emissions Monitoring

U.S.-based offshore vessels owner Harvey Gulf International Marine on Thursday announced that it has taken delivery of its second tri-fueled platform supply vessel. The 310-foot Harvey Power is equipped to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), electric battery power, and ultra low sulphur diesel, but will be primarily operated utilizing only LNG and battery power.Harvey Gulf said it has three additional PSVs being retrofitted with batteries to make them tri-fueled, yielding a fleet of five tri-fueled vessels.

OMSA Goes on the Offensive to Document Jones Act Violations

Harvey Gulf Adds Battery Power to Harvey Champion PSV

U.S.-based offshore vessel operator Harvey Gulf International Marine has said it has converted its Harvey Champion platform supply vessel into a dual-fuel vessel. The Harvey Champion is now operating on both battery power and diesel. Edison Chouest Inks Deal for Battery-equipped PSV

Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) has entered into a contract with an oil major to install battery systems aboard one of its Jones Act platform supply vessels (PSV), the U.S.-based shipowner announced Monday. Bunkering ports around the world have long used a variety of small tankers or tug and barge combinations to deliver fuel to visiting ships. Mostly this was heavy oil, but recently a new breed of bunkering vessels is emerging to deliver clean burning liquefied natural gas (LNG) to modern ships with dual-fuel capabilities.The fall of 2020 will see a new addition to this fleet servicing ships in Florida and the Caribbean. As an articulated tug barge (ATB) combination, the vessel will have a cargo capacity of 4,000 cubic meters of LNG.

Harvey Gulf Secures PSV Extensions, Fuel Contract

U.S. based offshore vessel owner Harvey Gulf International Marine announced Monday it has signed two 18-month contract extensions for two of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered platform supply vessels (PSV), Harvey Liberty and Harvey Freedom.
