Pasha's New LNG-fueled Containership Makes Maiden Call in Honolulu

Pasha Hawai‘i’s second liquefied natural gas-powered containership made its inaugural arrival at Honolulu Harbor’s Pier 51, completing the construction and delivery of the company’s ‘Ohana Class vessels.The vessel, Janet Marie, will serve the Hawai‘i/Mainland trade lane, joining the company’s first ‘Ohana Class ship, George III, which began service in August 2022. Hawaii Stevedores Commits Kapalama Container Terminal

Honolulu-based Hawaii Stevedores, Inc. has received confirmation from Hawaii State Department of Transportation (HDOT) that, together with the state, Hawaii Stevedores will continue the joint development of the Kapalama Container Terminal (KCT). The state has confirmed its commitment for Hawaii Stevedores to lease the new 84-acre, state-of-the-art KCT, which will be constructed at the former Kapalama Military Reserve Terminal at Sand Island in Honolulu, as part of the state’s $448 million harbors modernization plan. “KCT is a shining example of a public/private investment partnership,” said George Pasha, IV, President and CEO, The Pasha Group, which owns Hawaii Stevedores.

Horizon Lines Closes Acquisition of Hawaii Stevedores

Horizon Lines, Inc. announced that it has closed the purchase of Hawaii Stevedores, Inc. (HSI). The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HSI is one of only two stevedoring companies on Oahu with a customer base that spans a broad range of services including container stevedoring, roll-on roll-off operations, bulk cargo operations and passenger cruise lines support.

Horizon Lines Signs to Purchase Hawaii Stevedores

Horizon Lines Inc., a container shipping and integrated logistics company, signed a letter of intent to purchase Honolulu-based Hawaii Stevedores Inc., a provider of marine terminal services. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition is subject to the completion of a due diligence process. The company plans to maintain all Hawaii Stevedores' contracts for stevedoring, or loading and unloading ships, as well as its existing labor contracts. Source: AP
