MAN Propulsion to Power Seismic Vessel

MAN Diesel & Turbo recently signed a contract for the supply of 8L32/44CR B.2 engines as part of a complete propulsion package to power a seismic vessel ordered by GC Rieber Shipping of Norway. The contract contains an option for an extra vessel. Four of the engines, along with two two-speed Flender Twin-In/Single-Out reduction gears and MAN Alpha Twin Screw CP propellers in AHT nozzles, will power the vessel. The seismic vessel is graded as Ice Class 1A*, which provides a good basis for operating in Arctic areas.

MAN Engines to Power Seismic Vessel in Norway

MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a contract on 7 July 2011 in Frederikshavn, Denmark for the supply of 4 × MAN 8L32/40 engines to power a seismic vessel ordered by Sanco Shipping of Norway. The vessel will be built by Kleven Maritime at Myklebust shipyard in southern Norway and is scheduled for delivery by 31 May, 2013. The four-stroke engines will be constructed in Augsburg, headquarters of MAN Diesel & Turbo and a four-stroke engine production site in its own right. MAN Diesel UK, MAN Turbo Merge

With immediate effect, Stockport based MAN Diesel Ltd and its sister company MAN Turbo (UK) Ltd have merged operations in the UK to form a new organization, MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd. All administration and finance departments from both companies have been centralized at the newly built MAN Diesel & Turbo UK head office complex in Stockport, Cheshire.  Also, as part of this merger, a new MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Sales office has been opened in Redhill, Surrey.  The merger of the two UK operations into one organization, follows the announcement of the integration of the individual parent companies, MAN Diesel SE and MAN Turbo AG.  The Headquarters of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE is based in Augsburg, Germany.
