Xantrex Rolls Out New Sine Wave Inverters

Onboard AC power technology company Xantrex informs it has expanded its Freedom series with the launch of four new models. The new series called Freedom X marks the ongoing evolution of the Freedom inverter first launched in 1992. “The Freedom name is synonymous with quality and reliability in the marine industry. The Freedom Marine, Freedom HF/HFS and Freedom SW inverter/chargers set benchmarks in the industry and have been installed in thousands of boats,” said Richard Gaudet, Vice President of Xantrex business at Schneider Electric. Åsheim Takes Helm of HÖEGH Fleet

Yngvil Åsheim has been named fleet manager in HFS responsible for the management of Leif Höegh & Co and HUAL's car carrier fleet. She came to HFS from Det norske Veritas (DNV) in 2002, where she was manager of DNV's Machinery Ship in Operation division. Åsheim has a degree (Master of Science) in mechanical engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, NTH (NTNU) and has further education from management programmes under DNV's direction and from IMD in Switzerland. She started as a trainee at DNV in 1993. HFS is a management company responsible for the technical management and crewing of vessels owned by Leif Höegh & Co (LHC), comprising 22 car carriers, four LNG carriers, 10 specialised open hatch carriers and two large bulk carriers.

Hogia Ferry Announces Promotions

The management at Hogia Ferry Systems changes positions. Sales manager Alf-Håkan Romar takes over as new managing director at Hogia Ferry Systems. The company’s founder and present managing director, Stefan Engelholm, is instead to focus on system development. He will also continue as a member of the boards of Hogia Ferry Systems Ab and Oy Hogia Data Ab. Stefan Engelholm, managing director of Hogia Ferry Systems in Korsholm (Vaasa) has announced that he is to resign as managing director of the company at the general meeting of shareholders in April 2005. Hogia Ferry Systems was founded by Engelholm in 1981 – known then as Oy Consy Ab – and he has led the company since then.
