Offshore wind turbines are reaching new heights both literally (meters), and figuratively (megawatts). Huisman's 3,000mt+ Crane for Havfram's Offshore Wind Vessel

Dutch offshore crane maker Huisman has won a contract to supply a 3,000mt+ Leg Encircling Crane (LEC) to be installed on Havfram's first Wind Turbine Installation Vessel. This is Huisman's thirteenth LEC order since the start of 2021, and and second this week, after announcing a similar deal to supply a crane for Cadeler's offshore wind vessel.For Havfram, Huiisman will supply the full electric LEC which will be equiopped with a "unique" 155 meter boom. The crane will have a lifting height of around 180 meters above deck.

Cadeler Orders Second Hybrid Offshore Wind Installation Jack-up

Danish offshore wind installation services firm Cadeler has ordered its second F-class vessel, a hybrid design allowing the vessel to convert from being a foundation installation unit to a wind turbine generator installation vessel within a short period of time.This is the sixth vessel that Cadeler will have in its fleet, tripling its number of vessels.Cadeler is currently building two X-class as well as an F-class vessel, which are set to be delivered from the second half of 2024 on. The new F-class vessel is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2026.

Offshore installation specialist Jan De Nul Group has ordered a high-end crane simulator for two of its Next Generation Offshore Installation Vessels Voltaire and Les Alizés.According to Jan De Nul, the crane simulator will be based on real physics and the actual vessel models, enabling Jan De Nul to train its crewmembers and realistically simulate complex offshore installations in a completely safe environment, in the most severe conditions.
