OET Gets Loan for Two Suezmax Newbuilds

Greece-based shipping company Okeanis Eco Tankers (OET) said it  has secured funding to finance the pre-delivery of two new ECO scrubber-fitted Suezmax tankers.The Greek tanker owner and operator said that it has secured commitment to a USD 45.9 million secured loan facility from Alpha Bank A.E. to finance 88.95% of the total pre-delivery yard installments for the vessel pair.The two ECO design, scrubber-fitted 158,000 DWT Suezmax tankers are under construction at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and set for delivery in August 2020.The loan facility is available immediately…

OET Acquires ECO Suezmax Tanker Pair

HHI Bags Order for 2 Crude Carriers

HHI Bags $390mln Order for 2 LNG Carriers

GTT Receives Tank Design Order from HSHI

GTT has received an order from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) for the tank design of a Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) on behalf of the Japanese ship-owner Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system has been selected to equip the LNGC, offering a capacity of 174,000 m3. Eastern Pacific Shipping exercised an option connected with an order for 5 × 15,000-TEU containerships placed in November 2017, and requested another six vessels. All 11 engines involved in the order will be powered by MAN B&W-branded two-stroke engines.The first five engines will be conventional MAN B&W 11G90ME-C units equipped with scrubbers that are due for delivery between 2019-2020. TOP Ships Concludes Suezmax Financing

TOP Ships, an international owner and operator of modern, fuel efficient “ECO” tanker vessels currently focusing on the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, announced that it has concluded Financing Agreements with a major Chinese leasing company, via sale and leaseback transactions of up to $92.5 million for its Suezmax newbuilding vessels with hull numbers 874 and 875, currently under construction at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. in South Korea. The company also announced that it has increased the maximum borrowing capacity of the Family Trading Credit Facility to $25.0 million and that it has drawn down an additional $5.0 million from the Company’s outstanding loan facilities.

Hapag-Lloyd Christens “Al Jmeliyah” in Rotterdam

Hapag-Lloyd's 15,000 TEU ship "Al Jmeliyah" was officially christened in Rotterdam. Naming patron is Inge Sijbesma, the wife of Feike Sijbesma, CEO of the corporation DSM – one of Hapag-Lloyd’s biggest customers in the Netherlands.The name “Al Jmeliyah” is Arabic for “the beautiful one.” With its ten sister vessels, the “Al Jmeliyah” numbers among the so-called “Ultra Large Container Vessels” in Hapag-Lloyd’s fleet.However, this was not the first time that Hapag-Lloyd has christened a ship in Rotterdam. Samsung Heavy Industries Awards New LNG Tank Design Order to GTT

GTT has received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) concerning the tank design of a new 174,000 m3 LNG carrier, on behalf of a European ship-owner.
