Williams wins World Match Racing Title

Johor, Malaysia – GAC Pindar skipper Ian Williams has today entered the record books as the first to win sailing’s World Match Racing Tour title six times. Williams previously won the title in 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2015. He beats his own record set last year when he won the title for the fifth time. Today’s victory will go down as Williams’s best yet, after being drawn into a thrilling three-way battle with Björn Hansen (Nautiska) and Taylor Canfield (US One). Williams went into the final event of the tour, the Monsoon Cup, knowing that the tour title would be his if he finished ahead of either of his two challengers, due to the 2 point lead accumulated over the season.

Emulsion Fuel Trial Update

Quadriise Fuels shareholders were advised in March 2012 that  focus would move to sea borne assessment on a Mærsk container ship to provide the operating performance information required by all participants in the programme. During this first assessment it was not possible to fully optimise engine performance, as the test configuration afforded limited scope for relevant 'in service' adjustments. These recent results have provided the necessary data for future adjustment and assessments. Further marine engine and 'in service' tests are planned in the second half of the year with the support of Maersk, candidate refineries and major engine manufacturers. On completion, the programme is planned to move to the next phase involving use of MSAR® fuel in a sample of the Mærsk fleet.
