Svitzer Adds New Tug in Brazil

Brazilian shipbuilder Estaleiro Rio Maguari (ERM) has delivered the first in a series of six new tugs for Svitzer Brazil.The vessel, Svitzer Arthur, is a a RAmparts 2300-ERM tug designed by Canadian naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd., who said the design is optimized for maximum efficiency in ship-handling operations in harbors.With an overall length of 23.2 meters and 11.4-meter beam, the tug features a raised fo’c’sle deck for safer operations in heavier weather. Svitzer Australia recently took delivery of a new RAstar 3000-W series ASD tug, Svitzer North, from ASL Shipyard in Singapore.The vessel's design was developed by Robert Allan Ltd. in close cooperation with Svitzer’s operations team, to meet the unique demands of the Port of Geraldton, Western Australia. With over 400 ship visits per year, the port’s primary cargo is iron ore, with over 10 MTPA exported. Port of Luleå 36m Hybrid Icebreaker Tug Delivered

The powerful 36 meter hybrid icebreaker tug Vilja was delivered to her Owner, Port of Luleå, on June 26th, 2019 at Gondan Shipyard in Spain. On July 4th, Vilja arrived in Luleå and the crew was very satisfied with the first sailing experience and tug performance on the journey home. The vessel will soon be used for ice management, firefighting and navigation aids service duties in the Port of Luleå, Sweden and will assist ships and conduct coastal towing in the northern sector of the Gulf of Bothnia.Vilja is a 36 meter TundRA 3600–H, Icebreaking Escort Tug designed by Robert Allan Ltd.

Saam Smit Towage Adds Escort Tug Duo

Saam Smit Towage Canada (SST Canada) has purchased two new RAstar 3200 escort tugs from Hong Kong’s Cheoy Lee Shipyards.SST Grizzly and SST Orca, which are designed by Robert Allan Ltd, has departed Cheoy Lee’s Hin Lee shipyard, will arrive Vancouver in early November of this year.The two new escort-rated tugs will join SST Canada’s fleet and begin operations in the southern waters of British Columbia. Boluda Towage and Salvage has taken delivery of the newly built VB Xaloc, the first tug of the owner’s multi-boat order from Astilleros Zamakona and first of Robert Allan Ltd.’s TRAktor 3200-V class escort tugs. New RAmparts 3000W Class Tug from Robert Allan

St Elmo, the latest RAmparts 3000W Class tug designed by Robert Allan Ltd. of Vancouver, Canada.

In November 2011, Tug Malta Limited, a subsidiary of Rimorchiatori Riuniti of Genoa, Italy, took delivery of the tug St Elmo, the latest RAmparts 3000W Class tug designed by Robert Allan Ltd. of Vancouver, Canada. The vessel was built by Astilleros Zamakona of Spain in their Pasaia Shipyard. The tug will be based in Malta and brings Tug Malta's fleet to a total of eight tugs. This additional new vessel further modernizes the fleet after the recent delivery of the Robert Allan Ltd. designed Voith tractor Spinola in July 2009.

TAIWAN – Research Vessel Ready for Launch

The Taiwan Ocean Research Institute (TORI) is preparing the launch of the new 2.700 ton – ORV, Multi purpose Oceanographic Research Vessel, “RESEARCH V”. The vessel that is being constructed in the shipyard Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Group in Kaohsiung will be launch in June, and will be completed by 2012. Jong Shyn is responsible for the delivery of the complete research vessel to TORI and the Taiwanese science community. TORI is one of the National Applied Reseach Laboratories (NARL) in Taiwan. Deck equipment and oceanographic winches has being supplied by Spanish companies.

Ibercisa Winches for Icelandic Fishing Vessels

The fishing Icelandic company, Uthafsskip, operator of two trawlers freezer vessels, received its second pair of trawler winches from the Spanish manufacturer, Ibercisa, for installation on the Glorya. Previously, Ibercisa delivered an identical pair of electrical trawler winches for Uthafsskip’s Victory. Both principal trawler winches are independent and electrically driven, with frequency converter and controlled by an automatic trawling system. Driven by an electrical motor of 485 CV, provided with a drum by capacity for 4,000 m of 32mm cable and a maximum traction of 40 tons.

Ibercisa Supplies Iraqi Navi

The Spanish company Ibercisa supplies equipment to Fincantieri, Cantieri Navali Italiani, S.p.A. through its agent Gecom, for four Saettia MK Patrol ships for the Iraqi Navy. Each of the Patrol ships is equipped with two capstans, one vertical electric anchor winch model MAN-E/V/16-S/1 chain (16 mm) and one auxiliary cargo winch RHIB model MAX-C/E/15/25-16 (6 ton direct pull). All the supplied equipment are electrically driven according to owners’ specifications.
