Transas Opens Office in India

Transas is opening a new office in Mumbai, India. By establishing the presence on the ground, Transas will be able to more effectively market its capabilities and target the growing opportunities in this strategically important region. By strengthening the presence in India, Transas will also expand into new market segments, like aviation, defence and edutainment. Transas India will continue to closely cooperate with the Company’s long-term Partner in the marine market Elcome Marine Services Pvt. Ltd. Shailendra Shukla will be the new Managing Director of Transas India. Mr. Shukla has been working in Transas since 2007 as a Managing Director of the company’s office in Dubai, UAE.

Transas HQ Moved to Ireland

As of July 2003, the International Headquarters of the marine IT specialist, Transas, has moved to Cork, Ireland. The move to Ireland is a logical consequence of the company’s ongoing expansion into international markets. Today Transas is represented in some 90 countries worldwide with more Transas offices to be established within the coming months. As the center of international commercial operations Ireland has the advantage of being located in the euro zone and offers a strong base of experienced, well-educated personnel from which to staff its operations. McAlear Named CEO Of Kvaerner Philadelphia Shipyard

Kvaerner, the Anglo-Norwegian engineering and construction Group, has elected Ronald J. McAlear, as CEO of its Philadelphia Shipyard. He replaces Baard Bale, who has been acting CEO of the yard since June, and will be returning to Kvaerner's international headquarters in London in December. McAlear has spent his entire professional career in the maritime industry, and currently holds a senior executive position with Litton Avondale Industries. He will assume his new position with Kvaerner in Philadelphia at the beginning of November. McAlear, a well-known figure within the U.S. shipbuilding industry, boasts a solid background in shipbuilding, ship repair, ship-operations and marine equipment marketing and manufacturing.
