Kraken Announced Executive Appointments

Kraken Sonar Inc. announced it has recruited two industry veterans to further develop its sensors-to-systems strategy. ISE Ink RCN Mine Detection Equipment Contract

International Submarine Engineering (ISE) awarded the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) contract by MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA). ISE will provide two commercial off-the-shelf, high speed Aurora Towfish, which will be used to support mine detection missions and route survey operations for the Royal Canadian Navy’s Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels. The Aurora towfish will include modifications to integrate new sensors and navigation equipment, including an L3 Klein sidescan sonar, and an R2Sonic bathymetric multibeam echosounder.

ISE Awarded New AUV Development Contract

International Submarine Engineering Ltd was awarded a development contract in December, 2007 by Cybernetix S.A. of Marseille, France. Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platform, known as SWIMMER. engineering Phase 1 of the SWIMMER project. and economic. of the overall SWIMMER concept. required of a traditional ROV. deployment time, labor and handling.

Fugro Places ROV Contract with ISE

ISE has received a contract from Fugro Chance Inc. to update their Hammerhead ROV with current technologies. The ROV frame with 5000 meter foam pack has been delivered to ISE, and will be outfitted with an ISE 150HP propulsion system, ISE control system and an electric power system. The propulsion system will include two redundant 75 hp hydraulic power units, hydraulic control units, proportional valve packs, thrusters control units, and eight thrusters. The electric power system will include a power distribution unit, power tray, and ground fault monitor on the surface; and a termination can, transformer can and deboost transformer on the ROV. The ISE control system will consist of a fiber-optic command, control and data distribution system running ISE’s ACE control software.
