Offshore wind developer Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind - a U.S. joint venture between Shell and EDF, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with six unions operating in New Jersey as part of its bid submission, "committing to help develop and employ a productive, safe, well-trained local workforce."The company in December 2020 submitted its bid to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to supply the state with up to 2,300 MW of renewable wind energy. Last Steel Truss Installed on Irving’s New Facility
Representatives from Irving Shipbuilding, Walters Steel, Ironworkers Local 752, Hatch Mott MacDonald, EllisDon and Irving Equipment gathered on August 6, 2014 to celebrate the installation of the last steel truss on Irving Shipbuilding’s new production building, under construction at Halifax Shipyard and where Canada’s new naval combat ships will be built starting in 2015. The truss was signed by members of Ironworkers Local 752, including Simon Prosper, an apprentice with Walters Steel, before it was lifted 47 meters to be placed on the top of the very north end of the new building.
