WPT Power Corp. Certified to ISO Standard

WPT Power Corporation announced that it has become certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems standards and guidelines. WPT has achieved the ISO 9001:2008 accreditation from Det Norske Veritas (DNV). ISO 9001 is accepted worldwide as the inclusive standard that defines quality. To become certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant, WPT Power Corporation underwent an evaluation process that included quality management system development, a management documentation review, pre-audit, initial assessment and clearance of non-conformances, all of which work to identify corrective actions that eliminate non-conformance to the quality management standard. The process culminated in a comprehensive registration audit by DNV.

Marinette Marine Certified ISO 9001:2008

Marinette Marine Corporation, announced certification of their Quality Management System to the ISO 9001:2008 International Standard by Det Norske Veritas Certification, Inc. Marinette Marine is one of few companies to meet the new ISO 9001:2008 certification requirements which updates and replaces the 2000 version previously certified to in April 2006. In accepting the certificate, Bruce Halverson, Quality Assurance Manager for Marinette Marine noted, “The achievement of ISO 9001:2008 reflects our continuous effort to achieve superior product quality notably due to our highly skilled workforce and teamwork.”

Cortland Cable Company Attains ISO 9001

Tandemloc Earns Quality Certificate

On February 29, 2016 Tandemloc was officially designated ISO 9001:2008 certified in the “Design, Development, Manufacture, Inspection, Testing and Distribution of Below-the-Hook Lifting and Rigging Devices; Tie Down Assemblies; ISO Shipping Container Connectors, ISO Shipping Container Construction Components, and ISO Shipping Container Mobilizing Equipment” (ISO 9001:2008 Certificate). Since safety and quality products have always been Tandemloc’s top priority, the company’s Quality Management System has always mirrored ISO 9001 requirements and standards.

Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute, has completed a new accreditation process from Det Norske Veritas Healthcare. By earning accreditation, Neosho Memorial has demonstrated it meets or exceeds patient safety standards (Conditions of Participation or COPs) set forth by the US  Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. DNV’s accreditation program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation. DNV’s modern accreditation program integrates ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System into the Medicare COPs.

Bollinger Achieves Continued ISO 9001 Certification

Bollinger Shipyards, LLC announced that it has achieved continued registration to ISO 9001 for another three years without interruption since 1996. The scope of Bollinger Shipyards certification, issued through Denver-based ISO 9001 management certification firm, Platinum Registration, Inc., includes the design, manufacture, repair and logistical support of marine vessels and their components, as well as in shop and field service repair of AC and DC motors and generators. “This is an important milestone for Bollinger Shipyards, LLC,” said Ben Bordelon, Bollinger President and CEO.

Makai Receives ISO Certification

Makai Ocean Engineering received ISO 9001:2008 certification which is the internationally recognized quality management standard that helps monitor and optimize an organization’s overall performance. The certification standards published by the International Organization for Standardization provide a rigorous system for measuring and evaluating quality management systems (QMS) by an accredited, independent agency with periodic audits to ensure ongoing compliance to the QMS standards. ISO 9001 certified organizations are distinguished by the quality of their products, services and processes.

ASRY Awarded ISO 9001-2000 Certificate

Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard, ASRY, in Bahrain has become the first shipyard in the world to be awarded ISO 9001-2000 Certificate. This certificate was awarded to ASRY on October 18 by Det Norske Veritas, the Norwegian Certification Authority and is in recognition of the Quality Management System it has in place in the yard. The ISO 9001-2000 certificate is an enhancement of the broader version of the ISO 9002 certificate, which was developed two years ago. Eivind Grostad, Vice President for DNV, presented the award on October 31 in Bahrain. Khateeb also paid tribute to the dedication and commitment of the entire workforce at ASRY.

puraDYN Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Ultraviolet Technologies, Hyde Marine ISO Certification

Globe Express Services Awarded ISO 9001:2008 Certification

VSTEP Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification

d'Amico shipping Receives RINA Integrated Approval

Italian shipping group d'Amico di Navigazione has been awarded RINA's integrated environmental and business standards certification. The Italy-based classification society issued d'Amico with certifications of compliance to the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:1996 standards, in addition to the ISM certification granted by RINA in 1997. The certificate of compliance to the ISO 9001:2000 standard covers carriage of forest products, containers, solid bulk cargoes, liquid cargoes (oil and chemicals) with ships owned or chartered, and covers all the companies controlled by d'Amico. The environmental certification ISO 14001 applies to the oil tankers owned by the company.

Caledonian Geotech Receives Industry Accreditations

Caledonian Geotech has received a hat-trick of prestigious industry accreditations. Following a detailed audit conducted by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), the company was awarded accreditation according to the ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 operating standards. The ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards testify to the company’s strong quality and environmental management performance, while OHSAS 18001 is the internationally-recognized assessment awarded to companies who take stringent steps to protect their workforce and actively promote health and safety in the workplace. Caledonian Geotech was acquired by Specialist Subsea Services (S3), a provider of ROV and survey services to the international energy industry, as part of the company’s strategic growth plans in 2011.

Palfinger Becomes ISO 14001 Certified

ISO 14001:2009 certification by TÜV Süd is considered to be the starting point of the full certification of a management system at Palfinger Marine's  corporate headquarter in Köstendorf. Safety, environmental protection and the highest quality are key values for Palfinger Marine  that can now be demonstrated. It facilitates continual improvements. Since customers are increasingly demanding internationally recognised certification such as ISO 14001, Palfinger Marine  has launched a process to introduce different environmental and management systems. Greencarrier Freight Services’ business has strengthened its position in the energy and project forwarding markets by achieving management (ISO 9001) and environmental (ISO 14001) certification for its Energy & Project Business Unit. “As a new and relatively small company in the oil and gas and project logistics industries, we have to produce a level of quality, personal service and knowledge that exceeds what the competition is doing,” said Georg Skivik Moltu, Director Energy & Projects and Head of HSE & QA, Greencarrier.

Maaskant Shipyards Earns ISO 9001:2008 Certificate

Maaskant Shipyards (Stellendam), part of Damen Shipyards Group, has received certification from Bureau Veritas for aligning its quality and management systems with internationally recognized standards. A certificate of approval for the ISO 9001:2008, management standards was presented to the yard by Bureau Veritas on October 17, 2014. Bureau Veritas spent four days at the Maaskant yard undertaking their final review and certification of the quality assurance system, and the yard’s managing director, Frits van Dongen, reports that the feedback was excellent. He emphasizes that the methods Maaskant has developed through this quality system will help the shipyard with increased productivity and work efficiency, something which will make it even more competitive.

Dryad Maritime Earns ISO Certification

UK maritime intelligence provider Dryad Maritime has achieved ISO certification to ISO 9001:2008, covering the provision of vessel management intelligence and maritime security advice. ISO 9001:2008 is accepted as the worldwide standard for a quality management system. It is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the commitment by top management, a systematic, process approach to the way it does business and the seeking of continual improvement across its operations. RS Promotes QMS Certification Services

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) said it has certified the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet quality management system for compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 standards, as well as the Azerbaijan State Marine Academy for compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standard. Rickmers-Linie Successfully Recertified

Rickmers-Linie GmbH & Cie KG, Hamburg, which specializes in worldwide ocean transportation of break bulk, heavy lifts and project cargoes has successfully undergone the process of recertification according to the latest ISO Standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2009 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
