Israeli to Block Gaza flotilla Boat

The Israeli military is monitoring a blockade-busting flotilla on its way to the Gaza Strip and is preparing to block it if need be, Channel 2 news reported. The convoy, consisting of several small vessels, was expected to sail from Greece to Gaza in the coming days, carrying humanitarian supplies for the Hamas-controlled enclave. The Marianne of Gothenburg, which departed on Friday for Greece, is part of Freedom Flotilla III, according to Ship to Gaza Sweden. Workers Shutter Israeli Port after Rocket Fire

Workers at a major Israeli seaport in the southern city of Ashdod suspended operations on Tuesday following heavy rocket fire from the nearby Gaza Strip. Violence has flared in recent days across the Israel-Gaza border, and the Israeli military said on Tuesday its Iron Dome defense system shot down four Palestinian rockets in the skies above Ashdod, about 25 km (15 miles) up the coast from Gaza. The Ashdod port, which is notorious for labor unrest, said in a statement that the head of the labor union instructed workers to leave their posts "without permission and without letting anyone know". A spokesman said the piers were completely shut down and the port called on workers to return to their jobs.

Israeli Navy to Block Gaza-Bound Flotilla

According to a report from UPI.com, Israeli military forces were told on June 27 to be firm in blocking a Gaza-bound flotilla while exercising restraint to avoid injuries, Israeli leaders said. UPI.com said reports indicate 10 ships plan to set sail June 28 to breach Israel's blockade of Gaza.
