ISS Sets base in Mozambique

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world-leading marine, cargo and supply chain solutions provider, has expanded its operations in Africa with the opening of new offices in Maputo, Mozambique which provide coverage across all of the country’s main ports from Pemba in the north, right down to Maputo itself. ISS Mozambique was declared open for business on 23rd March 2015, when it received its first agency nomination in the Port of Maputo as port agent for a Gasoil discharger. Services on offer are wide ranging and include Port Agency, Liner Agency, Vessel Husbandry, Customs Clearance and Freight Forwarding, and Project Logistics to the Offshore Oil and Gas Sector.

ISS Marks 100,000th Hub Appointment

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has marked a milestone with its 100,000th hub appointment for Maersk Tankers. For the past week, ISS staff across the company’s global network have been actively following vessel activities to see which tanker would take the golden ticket. Three vessels appeared to be front runners, with ISS handling the Nordic Ruth, as she transited the Bosporus in Turkey; managing a husbandry call for the Maersk Princess at OPL in Singapore; and finally the Maersk Messina, making a discharge call at the Wakayama oil terminal in Japan.

ISS Acquisition of Merkez Strengthens Turkey Cruise Capability

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), a maritime services provider, has acquired the Turkish cruise agency specialist Merkez Deniz Acenteligi ve Ticaret A.S (Merkez). Merkez is one of the most established agency houses in the Turkish shipping community and it is today a market-leading cruise sector specialist with offices in the major cruise ports of Istanbul and Kusadasi. ISS already has a strong existing presence in Turkey and this acquisition will assist the further development and growth of its business at an exciting period of development in this country. Turkey continues to attract more passengers year on year as the government actively promotes the country as a cruise destination. With new cruise terminals and airport expansion planned, these numbers are expected to continue to grow.

ISS Celebrates ISO Accreditation in M.East and Africa

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world’s leading maritime services provider, is celebrating the awards of ISO 22000:2005 – Food Safety Management System and ISO 9001:2008 for the company’s supply chain operations in Dubai, Mombasa and Mogadishu. Ceremonies recently took place at its global headquarters in the UK and in its regional Head Office in Dubai. As a pre-requisite to fulfilling the requirements of a three year (plus two year option) contract with the United Nations to supply the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), ISS had to meet a number of operational criteria relating to the procurement, supply chain management, transportation, warehousing and distribution of food to the Mission.

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS)  has announced a key hire in its Cargo Solutions division. Vincent Mazzone, a dry bulk supply chain and risk management professional, has been appointed to the newly created Geneva-based role of Vice President Cargo Solutions Business Development. Mazzone joins ISS following a career in dry bulk products including coal, ore, non-ferrous concentrates and fertilizers. Working for SGS, Koch Carbon LLC and most recently as a consultant, he has for over 30 years provided supply chain management services for buyers…

ISS Appoints Mackay Senior VP, Africa

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world’s leading maritime services provider, has appointed David Mackay as Senior Vice President for its Africa region. Based in Mombasa, Kenya, David will have operational management responsibility for eight countries in the region, with ambitious plans for more country openings in the coming year. As part of a strategic geographical realignment, Africa has now been designated by ISS as a specific region its own right, having previously been managed as part of the larger Middle East, India and Africa region.

International maritime services provider, Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), has appointed Romi Kaushal as Executive Vice President of Operations for their Asia Pacific region. With extensive experience in operations and shore based management, Romi has worked in senior commercial and operational positions across the globe. He was also a Principal Consultant for KPMG, CEO for the Emirates Shipping Line in Hong Kong and has held shipping roles in Hamburg, New York, Dubai and Montreal.
