Cal Dive Announces Promotions

Cal Dive International, Inc. announced today the retirement of Scott T. Naughton, the Company’s Chief Operating Officer, effective September 9, 2011. Also, the Company announced that John R. Abadie, Jr., the Company’s current Senior Vice President - Operations - Western Hemisphere, has been promoted to serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and that G. ABS Certifies To ISO 14001 Standard

ABS Quality Evaluations Inc. has certified the first offshore platform fabrication company's environmental quality management system to the internationally recognized ISO 14001 standard. The Morgan City, La., facilities of worldwide marine construction company J.Ray McDermott, Inc., was successfully audited by ABS QE to receive this certification. According to ABS QE Auditor Patricia Fitzgerald, the Morgan City facility implemented an integrated Quality, Health and Environmental management system for the entire scope of fabrication and repairing of offshore structures. Since residential neighborhoods and other businesses as well as bayous border the yard, environmental concerns were factored into the overall program. McDermott, Bay Begin Alliance at Harbor Island Facility

J. Ray McDermott, Inc., a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., and Bay Ltd. have formed a strategic alliance to pursue fabrication projects in the offshore oil and gas industry, using McDermott's Harbor Island facility near Corpus Christi, Texas. Under the alliance, J. Ray McDermott will provide overall project management, engineering and procurement services, as well as the assembly areas, lifting equipment dredged slip and bulkhead at Harbor Island. Bay, which is the largest non-government employer of skilled craftspeople in the Coastal Bend area of Texas, will provide fabrication and construction services, labor, and equipment to support fabrication of large platform topsides at Harbor Island. Both companies are recognized as safety leaders in the construction industry.

J.Ray McDermott Begins Construction on Casino Barges

The Houston Business Journal has reported that J. Ray McDermott Inc has begun construction on two specialty barges for Harrah's Entertainment Inc. The two casino barges currently under construction will become part of Harrah's Horseshoe Casino expansion project in Hammond, Ind. Each measures 276 feet long by 102 feet wide and 22 feet deep, with a weight of about 1,700 tons. They will be combined with four other barges being built elsewhere to create a 564-foot long, 320-foot wide casino vessel.

McDermott Awarded EPCI Contract for Spar Project

J. Ray McDermott, Inc., a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., has been awarded a turnkey engineer-procure-construct-install contract to provide a spar platform for the Medusa Field Development Project, a deepwater development for Murphy Oil Corp. in the Gulf of Mexico. Financial terms of the contract are not being disclosed. SparTEC, Inc., a subsidiary of J. Ray McDermott, will act as the general contractor and overall project manager for the design engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the Medusa offshore production facility, which will be located in 2,223 ft. of water in Mississippi Canyon Block 582. “We are extremely honored and excited to be selected by Murphy to bring Medusa to fruition,” said Bobby Rawle, president of J. Ray McDermott.

New Joint Venture Targets Deepwater Markets

J. Ray McDermott, S.A. and Keppel FELS Limited. are in the process of forming a new joint venture company, to be named FloaTEC, LLC, to provide deepwater and ultra deepwater oil and gas development solutions. To add to the Joint Venture’s offerings, J Ray and Keppel FELS plan to draw upon the purchased patent rights previously owned by ABB for the Extended Tension Leg Platform (ETLP) and Single Column Floater (SCF) designs.
