Port of New Orleans Board Elects Jensen as Chairman

Rhe Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) on Thursday elected Jack C. Jensen, Jr. to serve as Board Chairman, succeeding Charles H. Ponstein, whose term as Chairman ended this month. Also elected were Joseph F. Toomy, who will serve as Vice Chairman, and Walter J. New Logistics Facility Coming to Port of New Orleans

Governor Bobby Jindal and CEO Jack Jensen of Jensen Companies announced the development of a new 500,000-square-foot logistics facility by TCI Plastics – a Jensen Companies division – at the Port of New Orleans. TCI will make a $36.5 million capital investment to build the facility at its France Road Wharf hub, and the project will create 160 new direct jobs with an average salary of more than $33,400, plus benefits. LED estimates the project will result in an additional 183 new indirect jobs, for a total of more than 340 new jobs.

Tesoro Recognizes Crowley for Zero Spills, Incidents

Zero spills and zero incidents is good news for Crowley, its customers and the citizens who rely on responsible companies to keep Alaska's waterways clean. In an informal presentation, Captain Jack Jensen, marine superintendent for Tesoro in Nikiski, presented crewmembers of Crowley's tug Vigilant with a third consecutive annual award recognizing their commitment to safety and the environment by concluding 2010 with zero spills and incidents. The Vigilant is on long-term charter to Tesoro and is stationed in Cook Inlet, Alaska, where it provides ship assist and escort services for Tesoro operated tankers moving in and out of the Tesoro Refinery dock (KPL) in Nikiski, Alaska.

Crowley's Vigilant, Environmental & Safety Award

In an informal presentation, Capt. Jack Jensen, marine superintendent for Tesoro in Nikiski, presented crewmembers of Crowley's tug Vigilant with an award recognizing their commitment to safety and the environment by concluding 2008 with zero spills and incidents. "We are pleased to have a strong advocate of environmental stewardship in Tesoro," said Bruce Harland, vice president of contract services in Alaska. "Our crewmembers work tirelessly to ensure not only the safety of customers' assets but also the environment.
