James Fisher Wins EA1 O&M Gig

James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS), provider of marine engineering services, has been awarded scheduled maintenance contract on one of the leading offshore wind farms of the future.The specialist in services to the marine, oil and gas said that as per contract, it will  provide scheduled maintenance services at East Anglia ONE, located approximately 31 Nm southeast of the Port of Lowestoft, where it will help ensure performance at one of the leading offshore wind farms of the future.Back in 2015/16 ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) made a 25-year commitment to the Port of Lowestoft. Dart Fisher Ready for O&M Work

The provider of of topside, offshore and subsea marine services and solutions James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) has announced that its innovative offshore support vessel, Dart Fisher, has returned to sea following refurbishment at the Alicat Workboats shipyard in Great Yarmouth.The British provider of marine engineering services provider said in a press note that the £35,000 investment was timed to coincide with up and coming operations and maintenance (O&M) charter requirements to ensure that the Dart Fisher is ready to mobilise at short notice.Scott Plank, marine manager at JFMS, said: “It is vital for James Fisher Marine Services…

Bibby WaveMaster 1 Named in Rotterdam

The naming ceremony of the Bibby WaveMaster 1 took place on September 6,  at the cruise terminal in the Port of Rotterdam in front of more than 125 guests from the U.K.-based Bibby Group, Damen and a range of industry partners. MV FlatHolm Gets Busy at Galloper OWF

Lowestoft based multipurpose vessel MV FlatHolm finished off a busy year in 2016 with a successful charter to James Fisher Marine Services Ltd, undertaking a variety of service activities in connection with the Galloper Offshore Wind Farm during November and December. The Galloper project was busy, last year, with turbine foundation preparation and MV FlatHolm provided daily cover, making sure the site was clear and checking for hazards and obstructions which might have hindered operations with the scour protection rock placement work. Being based locally in Lowestoft, MV FlatHolm was able to be on standby for any situation which might require immediate deployment, offering efficient and cost effective support whenever needed.

Finalists of Mersey Maritime Industry Awards Announced

The finalists of the 2017 Mersey Maritime Industry Awards (MMIAs) have been announced. JF Subsea Inspects Shell Oil Rigs with New ROV technique

James Fisher Subsea (JF Subsea), a world leading subsea services division of James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS), has reduced inspection downtime to 2% for Shell UK, through the innovative use of asset-based remotely operated vehicles (ABROVs) on oil rig inspection programmes in the North Sea. Traditionally, oil rig inspections are undertaken using a dedicated remotely operated vehicle support vessel (ROVSV), on which an ROV is secured. To remove the need of a ROVSV and the hazards involved with securing an ROV to the offshore platform, JF Subsea provided Shell UK with a gravity-based ABROV system. Incat Crowther Opens Europe Office

Incat Crowther reported it has opened an office in Europe. Located in Southampton, United Kingdom, the office has been created to support a growing European client base and meet the demand for Incat Crowther’s products and services in the region, the company said. The Incat Crowther Group has reported significant growth as a result of a strong track record, robust and innovative vessel designs and consulting services, the company said. The office in Southampton is a reflection of this growth and is the third new office opened in recent years (following Lafayette, USA and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The European office will initially offer design and support forspecialized high speed aluminium ships including passenger vessels, and specialist vessels for the offshore and renewables markets.

James Fisher Marine Services’s (JFMS) multipurpose wind farm support vessel, Dart Fisher, has been formally named by the vessel’s Godmother Maria McCaffery MBE, CEO of RenewableUK at a dedication service held at Griffon Hoverwork, Southampton. James Fisher Opens Offshore Vessel for Tours

James Fisher Marine Services Ltd (JFMS), and Fendercare Marine, both subsidiaries of James Fisher and Sons plc (JFS), held an open day to demonstrate the capability of their shoreside support base and the offshore support vessel, the Dart Fisher. The Dart Fisher, which was berthed in the Fendercare Marine base in Great Yarmouth, is a 26-meter catamaran specifically designed to service the offshore energy industry with the capability to transfer up to 12 engineers, three 20-foot containers with a total combined cargo weight of 30 metric tons.

JFMS to Market EOI's TranSPAR Concept

James Fisher Marine Services Ltd. and ExtremeOcean Innovation Inc. James Fisher Marine Services Ltd (JFMS), part of James Fisher and Sons plc – a marine services provider in the U.K., today announced the signing of an exclusive market entry agreement with Canadian company ExtremeOcean Innovation Inc. (EOI), the designers of the TranSPAR craft. The arrangement will last for 12 months, with the option of a further 12-month extension. ExtremeOcean Innovation Inc. is a marine technology company focused on developing marine solutions for the offshore market.

James Fisher Marine Services Ltd (JFMS), part of James Fisher and Sons plc  has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Mammoet Salvage B.V  a division of Mammoet. Operating for over 200 years and with a global office network, Mammoet is a specialist in engineered heavy lifting and multimodal transport solutions. In 2006, following their involvement in the recovery of the sunken Russian nuclear submarine Kursk, they formed Mammoet Salvage B.V., and in recent years that division has experienced substantial growth.

JFMS Vessel Completes its First 2 Charters

James Fisher Marine Service (JFMS) announces the successful completion of the SMV 24 vessel’s maiden charter and immediate subsequent charter at Round Three wind farm sites. The vessel accomplished its first charter working with offshore wind energy developer Forewind to support the Dogger Bank development, and the second charter was to RES Offshore delivering services to Hornsea wind farm. Both projects delivered support to critical metrological masts for the Round Three wind farm sites, transferring crew and equipment to carry out installation and maintenance activities.

JFMS Buys First Supacat Multi-Purpose Vessel 24

James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) and Supacat today announce the purchase of a Multi-purpose Vessel 24 (SMV 24). The investment in the SMV24 vessel marks JFMS’s continued commitment to provide innovative solutions to clients that require high assurance when operating in the marine environments. The SMV 24 vessel establishes a new benchmark in offshore support craft. With an overall length of 25.7 metres, it is powered by two MAN V12 diesel engines providing a maximum speed of 30 knots and fully loaded range of 675 nautical miles. The vessel is capable of carrying three standard ISO 20ft containers with 30T load, providing extensive and versatile deck space for equipment such as ROVs…
