Signet Launches New Tug for E.N. Bisso

On the morning of October 12, 2016, E.N. Bisso and Signet Shipbuilding & Repair (SS&R) Pascagoula, Miss., christened and launched E.N. Bisso’s newest high technology Robert Allan Ltd. (RAL) design tug. Mrs. Deborah F. McDonald, wife of Mr. William H. McDonald, President, E.N. Bisso, New Orleans, Louisiana, was the Christening Sponsor. The GLADYS B, SS&R Hull 109 was launched immediately following the ceremony, and will be delivered on-time and on-budget December 12, 2016. This ASD tug is the fourth RAL design vessel constructed by SS&R, with two new build contracts currently under negotiation.

MTU Series 4000 Marine Engines Selected by Southern Towing

Tognum America Inc., a Tognum Group subsidiary and manufacturer of marine and off-highway engines, will supply twelve MTU Series 4000 diesel engines to power six push boats operated by Southern Towing Company, an established inland waterways barge operator on the Mississippi River system and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. MTU Displays Latest Iron Men Engine

MTU Detroit Diesel will feature three of its most popular marine engines – the Series 4000, Series 2000 and Series 60 – at the International WorkBoat Show, booth #621, in New Orleans, December 1–3, 2010. As part of the WorkBoat Professional Series, a representative from MTU will be participating in a panel discussion about predictive and preventive maintenance. MTU will also be highlighting its control systems, genuine parts and service products at the show. The MTU family of engines for commercial marine applications includes the Series 4000, the Series 2000 and the Series 60 engines.

MTU Detroit Diesel Opens in New Orleans

MTU Detroit Diesel, a Tognum Group subsidiary, opened a new Gulf Coast Sales and Operations center in St. Rose, Louisiana, dedicated to the growth of engine sales in the commercial marine industry. The center also houses parts and serves as a logistics hub for MTU’s marine defense customers.
