Russia's Nevsky Shipyard has launched the second and final cargo-passenger vessel as part of the PV22 project.The newbuild Pavel Leonov, launched on August 6, is the second vessel in the series of two dry cargo-passenger vessel carriers ordered by Sakhalinlizingflot in August 2018. Six New Submarines Built for the Russian Navy
JSC Admiralty Shipyards has finished building a series of six submarines for the Russian Navyās Black Sea fleet, marked with a flag lifting ceremony on the large diesel-electric submarine Kolpino, which was transferred to the Russian Navy. The ceremony was attended by Chief of the Navy, Vladimir Korolev; president of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation, Alexei Rakhmanov; and CEO of JSC Admiralty Shipyards, Alexander Buzakov. āIt is difficult to overestimate the significance of today's event for our team,ā said Buzakov.
Rosneft President Meets DSME's CEO On Shipbuilding Cluster
On 15th of June, 2014 Rosneft President, Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin held talks with CEO of DSME Jae-ho Ko on establishment of a shipbuilding cluster. The event was also participated by Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC Gazprombank Andrey Akimov, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sovcomflot Sergey Frank, President of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexey Rakhmanov and Chairman of the Management Committee of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson. The parties discussed the progress of the project on establishment of a shipbuilding cluster in the Far East of Russia implementation. In particular, the proposal of Rosneft to form a single site for all shipbuilding contracts of Russian customers on the basis of OJSC Far Eastern Center of Shipbuilding.
Agreement Promotes LNG Carrier Construction
On June 21, 2013 under the auspices of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum a number of agreements were signed between Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T), Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation and ŠŠŠ Sovcomflot (SCF) to promote Russian content in LNG carriers construction projects. To ensure LNG shipping by sea from the Gazprom Group projects Vladivostok LNG and Sakhalin-2, provision will be made for possible construction during 2017-2021 of up to 13 highly sophisticated LNG carriersā¦
Shell to Charter Sovcomflot Newbuilding LNG Carriers
The vessels have been ordered at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding (South Korea) and will be built with the participation of Russia's JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (JSC āUSCā). The first tanker is due to be commissioned in late 2014 and the second vessel in early 2015. The involvement in the project of Russian shipbuilders at Novye Admiralteyskie verfi, Kotlin island will provide for the future specialised gas carrier needs of Russian oil & gas companies, for work on the continental shelf, in order to develop Arctic and Subarctic offshore fields.
Russian-builit Warship Handed Over to Indian Navy
Official handover ceremony of the first of three Project 11356 frigates was held recently at Yantar Shipyard (affiliate of United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) in Kaliningrad. The up-to-date ship built for Indian Navy under name of INS Teg was developed by Severnoye Design Bureau.According to the contract, Yantar Shipyard are to build three frigates of this project for Indian Navy. Experts say Project 11356 is one of the most effective in its class. JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation is Russia's largest shipbuilding company.
