Hydrogen-fueled Ship Earns AIP

ClassNK has issued an Approval in Principle (AiP) for a parcel layout concept for a hydrogen-fueled multi-purpose vessel developed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), MOL Drybulk Ltd. (MOL Drybulk), Onomichi Dockyard Co., Ltd. (Onomichi Dockyard), Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Kawasaki), Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG). ClassNK Registered Al Kout Delivered to KOTC

Leading classification society ClassNK announced that it has completed work on the 165,178GT VLCC Al Kout, built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) as part of a series of vessels constructed for the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company S.A.K. (KOTC). The Al Kout was officially delivered to KOTC at a ceremony held at KOTC Head Office in Kuwait on 30 October 2014. The Al Kout is the final vessel of the four VLCCs and one Aframax Tanker constructed by DSME as part of this project under ClassNK Rules and Regulations and in line with KOTC’s strict standards on safety and environmental performance. The VLCC series is also the first in the ClassNK registry to comply with the Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) requirements for Cargo Oil Tanks of Crude Oil Tankers.

ClassNK Completes Work on KOTC Vessel

ClassNK announced that it has completed work on the 31,445GT Product Tanker MUTRIBA, built by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HMD) as part of a series of vessels being constructed for the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company S.A.K. (KOTC). The MUTRIBA was officially delivered to KOTC at a ceremony held in Kuwait on 20 October 2014. The MUTRIBA is the fourth and final Product Tanker to be constructed by HMD as part of this series under ClassNK Rules and Regulations and in line with KOTC’s strict standards on safety and environmental performance. The MUTRIBA along with the other vessels in the series utilize the latest in environmentally-friendly technology, and are fitted with ballast water treatment systems and all possess an Inventory of Hazardous Material.

KOTC Takes Delivery of Product Tanker Mutriba

Classification society ClassNK said it has completed work on the 31,445 GT product tanker Mutriba, built by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HMD) as part of a series of vessels being constructed for the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company S.A.K. (KOTC). The Mutriba was officially delivered to KOTC at a ceremony held in Kuwait on October 20, 2014. The Mutriba is the fourth and final product tanker to be constructed by HMD as part of this series under ClassNK rules and regulations and in line with KOTC’s standards on safety and environmental performance.

Aframax Product Tanker Delivered to KOTC

The delivery ceremony for the M/T Al Dasma, constructed at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) and delivered to Kuwa it Oil Tanker Co. S.A.K. (KOTC) was held in Kuwait on June 23, 2014. The Aframax Product Tanker, named the M/T Al Dasma following its delivery to KOTC, was built as Hull No. 5393 at DSME under ClassNK Rules and Regulations and in line with KOTC’s strict standards on safety and green performance. Keppel Name & Deliver Jackup Rig to Japan

Keppel FELS delivers the KFELS Super B Class jackup rig, HAKURYU-11, to Japan Drilling Company (JDC). HAKURYU-11 will be chartered to the Con Son joint venture led by Petrovietnam. Built to Keppel’s advanced KFELS Super B Class design, it has been developed with several cost-efficient and distinctive safety features for rig operators. At the naming ceremony held at Keppel FELS, Mr Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director (Offshore), Keppel O&M and Managing Director, Keppel FELS, said, “We are proud to be able to deliver our 10th rig in five months in a timely and safe manner.
