iXBlue to Supply Gyrocompass Systems to RFA Tankers

iXBlue announced it is to supply QUADRANS fiber-optic gyrocompass systems for installation aboard the four new Tide Class tankers of the U.K. Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA). The systems to be supplied to Kelvin Hughes Limited will be integrated as a sub-system of the Integrated Bridge Systems for delivery to Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in South Korea where the vessels are under construction. Offshore Systems Wins Royal New Zealand Navy Contract

Offshore Systems Ltd., has signed a contract with the Royal New Zealand Navy. The contract, valued at over $730,227 with all options exercised, will see Offshore’s proprietary ECPINS®-M (Electronic Chart Precise Integrated Navigation System Military) deployed across the navy’s entire fleet. The contract brings the number of navies to standardize on ECPINS-M to three: the Royal New Zealand Navy, the Canadian Navy, and the Royal Danish Navy. Offshore continues to pursue opportunities to supply international military customers with its warship navigation software. The company recently announced that it is also collaborating with Kelvin Hughes Limited of the UK to jointly pursue more defense contracts.

OSI and Kelvin Hughes Collaborate

Offshore Systems International Ltd. (OSI) announced that its systems division, Offshore Systems Ltd. (OSL), has entered into an agreement with Kelvin Hughes Limited, part of Smith Marine Systems, to jointly pursue opportunities to supply electronic navigation systems to military customers. With an initial focus on the UK, the companies will offer navigation systems compliant to the NATO Warship Electronic Chart Display and Information System standard, referred to in the industry as "WECDIS". Innovations in AIS

Raytheon Marine is broadening its product offering to fulfill the new requirements due to the modification of international regulations. Therefore the company is now offering a SOLAS Class A ship borne AIS Transponder through its worldwide Reseller Network. The new RM 808 AIS, which is Wheelmark Type Approved by BSH, Germany, is produced exclusively by Nauticast Schiffsnavigationssysteme AG, Austria. Nauticast supplies the RM 808 AIS based on its own X-Pack DS design, together with extended warranty and high-end accessories for ease of installation. Marine Data Systems (MDS) has become the first to be granted product approval by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S., for its AIMS MIV Automatic Identification System (AIS).
