VOS Champion Starts New Charter

Vroon Offshore Services reports its Singapore-managed anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS ) vessel VOS Champion has started a five-month contract with a major international oil and gas engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contractor. The firm period of the current contract will last until March 2020.VOS Champion, which had been under charter to Chevron earlier this year, was delivered to her new charterers in early November and immediately mobilized to Sandakan, Malaysia.

Sentinel Marine Sell AHTS, Order Two More

Sentinel sell new-build Anchor Handling Towing & Supply vessels AHTS 5150;  order two more AHTS from Nam Cheong Dockyard. Buyers of the AHTS 5150, Hull SK 67, have requested the details of the sale to remain private. The newly ordered AHTS vessels will be built in Fujian South East Shipyard, China, with deliveries between Q3 – Q4 2013. These AHTS vessels are based on the proven Khiam Chuan Marine design, with the added stern thruster providing improved station keeping. The company has its roots in a Company called Nomis Shipping, which was established in 1989. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland. In its early days the company was engaged in owning and managing a fleet of Emergency Response & Rescue Vessels (ERRV).

Singapore Designed, China Built

Following a well-established relation, the Guangzhou Panyu Lingshan Shipyard has recently delivered another anchor handling tug designed by Singapores Khiam Chuan Marine. With a 131 ft length overall and a length at the waterline of 124 ft, the M/V Putra Jaya Singosari is registered in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The hulls 38.7 ft moulded beam and 15 ft moulded depth provides tankage for 305 tonnes of fuel oil and 170 tonnes of fresh water. Accommodation is provided for up to 22 crewmembers. The wheelhouse has both forward and aft facing command stations.

New Boat from Guangzhou Shipyard

Joining a long list of successful craft from this well-established south China shipyard, the 40-meter Putrajaya Singosari completed sea trials in mid-November of this year. With an 11.8-meter beam and 4.6-meter molded depth, the offshore utility support vessel was built to a design by Khiam Chuan Marine P.L. of Singapore. Classed by BV and meeting IMO/SOLAS for life saving and firefighting the vessel will be registered in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah Malaysia. Main propulsion comes from a pair of 1200 HP Cummins KTA38 M2 main engines turning nozzled propellers through Reintjes WAF460 gears.

Cummins China Announces Additional QSK60 Sales

Guangdong Hongsheng Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. have begun building the first of two offshore supply vessels for Yudhi Shipping Pte. Ltd. The broker on the project is Hocean Trading & Development. The first vessel is expected to deliver in July 2008. Designed by Khiam Chuan Marine of Singapore the vessels will be 58.7 by 14.6-meters with a molded depth of 5.5 meters. A pair of Cummins QSK60-M mains each generating 2200 hp at 1800 RPM will power each boat. They will turn into Reintjes WAF 773 gears with 7.087:1 ratios. Cummins will also supply a KTA38-DM1 and two KTA19-DM1 engines to power the vessel’s electrical generators. A single Cummins DCEC engine will be supplied for the emergency generator as well.

Sealink Building Anchor Handling Tug

In early 2008 Sealink Sdn Bhd of Miri, Sarawak, East Malaysia will take delivery of a new anchor handling tug from their own shipyard. The 38-meter tug, with a waterline length o f36.3 meters and an 11.8-meter beam, is the first of three being built to a design by naval architect Khiam Chuan Marine of Singapore. Powered by a pair of 2200 hp at 1800 RPM continuous duty V-16 Cummins QSK60 main engines the 4400 hp tug will have a 60-ton bollard pull and 12-knot operating speed. The first vessel to be delivered, designated Hull SSS122, will have Reintjes WAF872 gears with a 7.455:1 ratio. The second AHT, currently designated Hull SSS156 with have Twin Disc MGN1727VC gears with 7.5:1 ratios fitted to the Cummins QSK60 main engines.
