Kongsberg reports Record-high new orders in Q1 2014

KONGSBERG reports Q1 operating revenues of MNOK 3 941 (MNOK 4 033) and EBITDA of MNOK 446 (MNOK 500), resulting in an EBITDA margin of 11.3 per cent (12.4 per cent). New orders were strong in both the maritime and defence segments, totalling MNOK 8 565 (MNOK 3 885) in Q1 and bringing the Group's backlog of orders to the highest level since 2009. Kongsberg Maritime (KM) had a very strong quarter, with sales growth of 17.8 per cent year-on-year (Y/Y), and a very good influx of new orders. Both KM and Kongsberg Defence Systems (KDS) have higher EBITDAs Y/Y, while Kongsberg Protech Systems (KPS) and Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) have experienced declines.

Statoil Contracts Kongsberg for Subsea Structures

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies AS (KOGT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (KOG), has signed an agreement with Statoil for the delivery of subsea structures, in-line tee’s, tie-in and connection systems for the Polarled gas pipeline. The contract was signed with Statoil on behalf of the partners in the joint venture for Polarled: Statoil, Petoro, OMV, Shell, TOTAL, RWE Dea, ConocoPhillips, Edison, Maersk Oil and GDF SUEZ. Polarled is a new 480-km long gas pipeline from Aasta Hansteen to the Nyhamna processing facility in Møre & Romsdal County.

Kongsberg Upgrades Riser Management System

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies AS (KOGT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, announced  the latest release of the advanced Kongsberg Riser Management System (RMS), which introduces a number of new features developed to enhance situational awareness and improve data presentation. RMS is a real-time monitoring and decision support system for safe and optimal operation of drilling and work-over riser systems based on instrumented monitoring of critical parameters. The system is already in use by major operators worldwide.

Chinese Oil Company Chooses Kongsberg Drilling Software

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) signed a significant software contract with Chinese National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) to deliver the class-leading SiteCom real-time drilling information solution to six regional centers. The contract with CNOOC is a result of KOGT’s strategic decision to invest in the rapidly growing Chinese market and was won with support from KOGT local partner, Chinese Automation, in Beijing. Kongsberg says SiteCom facilitates safer, faster and better-informed drilling decisions by integrating real-time data, historical data, reports, files and communication from all sources on the rig and makes them available to a wider community of professionals and stakeholders at the company offices or in other remote locations.

KOGT Establishes EAME HQ in Guildford, U.K.

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, established a new EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) headquarters in Guildford, U.K. The new office will provide sales and technical support to customers across the EAME region. The new office will be the focal point for all customers operating in the EAME region, initially concentrating on KOGT's solutions and services in the fields of process simulation and flow assurance projects as well as real-time information systems for drilling decision support.

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies Acquires Advali AS

Norway and India based software firm to integrate with Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies` Software & Services Division. Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies AS (KOGT), a wholly owned company of Kongsberg, has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Advali AS. The acquisition, which is expected to be completed mid-December 2012, will strengthen KOGT's capabilities and efficiency in software development, testing and support. Advali is a provider of software development services to the Nordic region. The company was originally founded in Norway in 1997. In 2003 it established facilities in Bangalore, India, focusing on software development and testing. All 120 employees are now based in Bangalore.

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) signed an agreement to supply a flexible risers and umbilicals installation system for the ‘Capstan Reel Installation System’ (CRIS), to the Offshore Installation Group (OIG). The patented CRIS design simplifies the subsea installation process, enabling a reduction in installation time and risk, which translates to significant cost savings. The CRIS is a sophisticated new product that will address the risk, safety and cost factors of offshore installations as production moves to deeper waters, further offshore.
