Kongsberg to Supply Stabilizers for CMAL's New Ferries

Kongsberg Maritime’s Dunfermline facility has announced a contract to supply Aquarius 50 Retractable Fin Stabilizers for two new ferries to be built by the Cemre Shipyard in Turkey for Scotland’s Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL).The Aquarius retractable fin stabilizers, due for delivery in 2023, are designed for high performance roll damping while offering low weight and high reliability coupled with low maintenance, according to Kongsberg. FLAGSHIP-iCAS: Optimum Situation-Awareness In An Emergency

FLAGSHIP, the Pan-European maritime transport project part funded by the EU, has successfully developed software that enables comprehensive suppression of audible warnings in order to avoid large cascades of alarms on the bridge and in the engine room. Called iCAS (intelligent Central Alarm System),  the system is designed to provide a precise overview of the situation on board as it develops while freeing up staff to address the situation and follow the vessel’s routines without disturbance.

Kongsberg Maritime: AutoChief C20 Propulsion Control System Hits 3000 Deliveries

Kongsberg Maritime is delighted to announce Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) number 3000 for its highly regarded propulsion control system, AutoChief C20. The FAT took place March 8th 2011 at Kongsberg Maritime Korea's facility in Busan, South Korea, with representatives from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and a Lloyd's Register surveyor present. Following the successful FAT, the system will be delivered to Hyundai Heavy Industry Engine Maker Division, for use on a large 2-stroke engine aboard HHI new building no. H2180, for shipowner Seaspan.
