Shipbuilding: Kangnam Delivers 41-knot Korea Express Ferry

FESCO Optimizes the Rotation

Russian shipping company FESCO Transportation Group announced that as part of the development of FESCO Fast Forward services it is optimizing the rotation and changing the names of regular shipping lines from China and the Republic of Korea to Russia.Transportation services between China and Russia will be carried out under the brand FESCO China Express, and between the Republic of Korea and Russia - under the brand FESCO Korea Express.FESCO China Express will operate on two routes: Vladivostok-Vostochny-Shekou-Yantian-Xiamen-Ningbo-Shanghai-Vladivostok and the fast route - Eastern Arrow – Vladivostok-Qingdao-Shanghai-Ningbo-Vladivostok.

ABB Ability Lands Deal for Nine Heavy Lift Vessels

COSCOL Wins Kazakhstani Heavy Lift Shipping Contract

COSCO Shipping Co. Ltd. (COSCOL) said it has been awarded a transportation and logistics contract signed by representatives of all parties on September 27, 2016 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Part of the work under the contract will be subcontracted to COSCOL’s Korean Partners, namely Dongbang Transport Logistics Co., Ltd., Hanjin Transportation Co., Ltd., CJ Korea Express and Chung Yang Shipping Co., Ltd. COSCO will be responsible for transporting modules weighing up to 1,800 tons from fabrication yards in Korea and Europe to the transshipment bases in the Black and Baltic seas.

Korea Express Orders Two Quaymate M50 Cranes

Xiamen, People’s Republic of China, 24 May 2016 – Terex Port Solutions (TPS) notches up another success for its Terex Quaymate M50 mobile harbour crane. After the first machine in the world completely manufactured and assembled by the Chinese site of TPS in Xiamen was shipped to Australia in March this year, the leading South Korean logistics service provider CJ Korea Express (Korea Express) has now ordered two Quaymate M50 mobile harbour cranes for different terminals. In August 2016, the two 2-rope mobile harbour cranes with a maximum  lifting capacity of 50 t, a 20-t motor grab curve and an outreach of up to 36 m will be commissioned in the terminals of Korea Express located in Ulsan on the East Sea and Incheon on the Yellow Sea.

China Shipping Ports Acquires 20% Stake at Busan Terminal

China Shipping Ports Development, the port unit of China Shipping Group, has agreed to acquire a 20% stake in the loss-making Korea Express Busan Container Terminal (KBCT) from parent CJ Korea Express (CJ Korex). KBCT manages the container terminal in the port of Busan Shinsundae. KBCT has five container shipping berths spanning 1,500 metres with draft of up to 16 metres. The berths are capable of handling boxships of up to 14,000 teu and moved 2.2m teu in 2014. Korex, which until now has control of KBCT, continue to be the main shareholder of the South Korean company terminal operator, while CSTD will become the second largest shareholder.
