Krill Expands Energy Monitoring Lineup

Krill Systems Inc. said it has completed its phase 2 product development cycle with the recently introduced Krill Regasification Monitoring Center (KRMC). Krill identified this phase of its business plan as the ability to supply a comprehensive range of energy monitoring products which deliver solutions to many the aspects demanded by the oil and gas industry to control energy operating costs. Krill Systems Inc. was founded as a software development company focusing on accurate vessel fuel consumption measurement and efficient data transmission. In 2011, identifying demand from commercial marine markets for accurate, reliable, fuel management and emissions control technologies, Krill became a ‘system integrator’ with the ability to supply a broad spectrum of fuel flow meters and other accessory components. Commercial clients also encouraged Krill to provide solutions to accurately measure and report Bunker fuel on vessels and measurement of bunker flow at on-shore facilities.

Krill Installs VFMMS on FRV Reuben Lasker

Krill Systems Inc., leader in advanced Vessel Fuel Measurement and Monitoring Systems (VFMMS), installated and conducted sea trial on-board the NOAA Ship Reuben Lasker. The NOAA Ship Reuben Lasker is the fifth in a series of Fishery Survey Vessels (FSV) and one of the most technologically advanced fisheries vessels in the world. Funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and built by Marinette Marine Corporation in Wisconsin, the ship’s primary objective is to support fish, marine mammal, and turtle surveys off the U.S. West Coast and in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean. Reuben Lasker is classed as a Fishery Survey Vessel (FSV). All FSVs are American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Ice Classed "C0".

Krill Systems Partners with Six Maritime

Krill Supplies VFMMS to Island Tug and Barge

Krill Systems Inc., a producer of Vessel Fuel Measurement and Monitoring Systems (VFMMS), announced delivery, installation and successful sea trials of three more systems to Island Tug and Barge Ltd. of Richmond B.C. Canada. The newly fitted vessels, Island Scout, Island Brave and Cindy Mozel, bring to a total six vessels fitted in the Island Tug and Barge fleet with Krill VFMMS, the others being Island Crown, Island Defender and Island Monarch, which were fitted about three years ago. The Krill VFMMS systems installed on these vessels will measure and transmit fuel consumption data from two main engines and two generators on each vessel and transmit that data to a Krill Vessel Operations Center (VOC) installed at Island Tug and Barge headquarters.

Krill Systems Debuts Bunkering System Software

Krill Systems Inc. introduced a new, advanced, bunkering solution. Krill Bunkering System software (KBS-100) can be ordered as a separate stand-alone system, incorporated into an existing Krill system, or ordered as part of a larger Krill VFMMS system for comprehensive fuel management, including bunkering. Krill Bunkering System uses OIML/MID approved, third party, mass-measuring meters to minimize inherent inaccuracies found in two and three phase Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) transfers.

Krill Wins Multi-boat Contract for Hydrovias

Krill Systems Inc., a compny in Vessel Fuel Measurement and Monitoring Systems (VFMMS), announces that it was awarded a contract to supply and install multi-point VFMMS systems onboard inland waterways push-boats being constructed by Uzmar Shipyard in Izmit, Turkey for Hydrovias do Brazil. The 45.6m LOA push boats, from the drawing board of naval architect Robert Allan Ltd., will be diesel-electric powered with azimuthing drives and propellers in nozzles configured for shallow water operation and will be used for inland logistics in South America.

Krill Systems Inc., a provider in advanced Vessel Fuel Measurement and Monitoring Systems (VFMMS), is pleased to announce successful installation and sea trial of two systems on-board the NOAA research vessels Henry B. Bigelow and Pisces. NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow and NOAA Ship Pisces represent the first two fittings of a multiple vessel NOAA contract awarded in a competitive bid, on an unrestricted basis, to Krill Systems to implement VFMMS (Vessel Fuel Measuring and Management Systems) within their fleet. The Bigelow and the Pisces are 208’ LOA NOAA fisheries survey vessels operating as part of the NOAA Atlantic Fleet. They are both actively engaged in research missions.

Krill Systems, Inc. announced Brian Staton as vice president of world-wide sales. Staton will be responsible for selling products in three vertical markets (recreation, commercial and government), distribution channels and develop sales and dealer support. Staton’s career spans 26 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive in the marine electronic industry.  He was a creative marketing and sales strategist for five major marine electronic brands and was former president of Simrad USA, and most recently employed Ship Equip business development manager.
