Offshore Energy: Semco to Prep Rig Floatel Victory for Action
Semco Maritime has won the contract to upgrade the Floatel Victory accommodation rig. Following the upgrade, the rig will sail out to undertake a contract in the British sector of the North Sea for Maersk Oil UK. Floatel Victory, owned by Floatel International, is expected to call at the Semco Maritime rig yard at Hanøytangen, Bergen, at the beginning of June after expiry of current contract with BP. ”We are pleased that Floatel International has chosen us for the assignment. This is an important order for Semco Maritime’s rig yard at Hanøytangen.
Semco Maritime, Langset to Develop Hanøytangen Yard
The two Norwegian companies enter into the agreement to cover development of the Hanøytangen yard as well as pursuing business opportunities in the oil and gas/maritime industry, primarily targeted at the North Sea and international markets. Langset AS will establish a mechanical workshop and it will move its engineering office and rope access headquarter to Hanøytangen. Langset is a provider of services to the maritime and energy sector, and Semco Maritime is a specialist in large-scale maintenance and refurbishment of offshore installations.
Semco Maritime wins order for Expansion of Maersk Guardian
Semco Maritime entered into an agreement with Maersk Drilling for the expansion of accommodation rig Maersk Guardian, which will be inserted at various fields in the Danish part of the North Sea from September 2016. The order for Semco Maritime comprises installation of new accommodation blocks as a supplement to existing quarters on the jack-up rig.
