Lopolight Names E-LED N.American Distributor

Lopolight, a Denmark-based manufacturer of LED navigation lights, announced the formation of a new partnership with E-LED Lighting, Inc. of Jupiter, Florida. On July 1, 2014 E-LED Lighting, Inc. will become the new North American distributor for Lopolight. Eric MacDonald, former Vice President of Euro Marine Trading, Inc. will be joining E-LED Lighting and assisting in the distribution changeover. E-LED Lighting will handle all OEM accounts in North America with an additional focus on the commercial and military markets with the launch of Lopolight’s new Professional Series.

Livorsi Introduces LED Navlights

Livorsi has developed a navigation light with powerful LED lighting within a rugged low-profile housing. These popular LED Navigation Lights are used by performance, work boat and government boats a like. LED lights outlast and out shine regular incandescent bulbs. LED lights use up to 90% less energy; these Livorsi nav lights only consume 1/10th of an amp at 14 volts. This means a longer life and less rigging time switching out lights. Larson Electronics’ Magnalight Announces New Handheld LED Spotlight

Larson Electronics Adds High powered LED Blasting Light

The Magnalight BL40-LED Blasting Light from Larson Electronics' combines advanced LED technology with rugged construction to produce a high powered LED blasting light capable of withstanding the demanding conditions found in sand, water, and media blasting operations. This IP68 rated 120 watt LED blasting light produces 7,200 lumens of intense light, is waterproof to three meters, corrosion resistant, available in spot or flood configurations, and can be operated with voltages ranging from 9 to 46 volts.

Magnalights Issues New LED Light Emitter

Magnalights has developed the new LEDP10W-1R LED light emitter. Using only 10 watts of power at less than 1 amp, this single LED emitter produces 860 lumens of light -- the output of 60 watt halogen lamps. Measuring only 2 inches in diameter, this unit uses Pulse Width Modulation circuitry to control heat and can be mounted in spaces too small for larger lamps producing less light. New Permanent Mount LED Deck Light

Industrial lighting specialist Larson Electronics announced the release of a 30 watt LED deck light equipped with a 360° spindle that allows for complete rotation while being permanently mounted. The DL-APB-LED-30W permanent mount LED deck light from Larson Electronics provides operators with a high powered lighting solution in applications where a low voltage light is preferred. The 30 watt PAR46 LED light emitter in this unit is highly resistant to damage from shocks and vibration as well as up to 80 percent more efficient than incandescent lights.

AMSA Upgrading Cape Byron Lighthouse

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is currently undertaking renovation and upgrade works at the Cape Byron Lighthouse in New South Wales. The first stage of the project started in late April and involves removing the existing paint from the inside of the lighthouse and repainting the exterior walls of the lighthouse. walls will be completely painted white, reverting to the lighthouse’s earliest known colour scheme. The lighthouse has had various coloured lower bands over the years. The painting works are expected to be completed by early June 2015.

IMTRA Debuts Omega LED lights

IMTRA today released its Omega LED lights. Designed specifically for recessed lighting applications in large yachts, the DC-powered Omega LED lights feature a high-quality, high CRI (Color Rendering Index) that reveals the colors of objects faithfully in comparison with ideal and natural light sources. Omega LED lights produce excellent lighting quality by combining high CRI with an equally high R9 value. A quantitative measurement of saturated red tone, high R9 values produce the most vivid colors.

Superyachts Shift to LED Lighting

Less than three years left of halogen bulb production sharpens focus for designers and yards. The hitherto gradual shift from traditional lighting technology to the new, environmentally efficient formats has, for the superyacht industry, taken on a new sense of urgency. With the deadline for production ceasing for the popular halogen bulbs now less than three years away (September 2016), Lumotics Marine is working with designers and yards initiating new builds in advising clients on preparing for the near-universal adoption of ship-wide LED lighting.

Imtra Goes 'Green' with Solar Power Project

Imtra, a  manufacturer of advanced LED Solutions, has announced  the completion of its ‘green’ initiative to reduce energy consumption at its corporate headquarters. MacArtney Enable DCN Diving Project

DCN Diving recently contracted MacArtney to build & deliver a range of underwater technology equipment for use on a major project. DCN Diving had been called upon to perform a diver-habitat based inspection and repair of the inlet channels at a large European power plant. Critical projects like this often come with a challenging timeframe and this instance proved no different. One of the challenges related to the project was the extensive length of the actual inlet tunnels, which required the umbilical cable for interfacing the control room and the diver habitats to be almost 900 metres long.

New Metallic LED Vaporproof Fixture

Phoenix Products Company, Inc. announced the release of the Metallic LED VP Series of vaporproof fixtures. Aiming to keep the design of traditional “jelly-jar” fixtures, the Metallic LED VP uses a patent pending module to house a Bridgelux LED light source rated for 50,000 hours of illumination. These fixtures are UL 1598A listed for marine, outdoor, saltwater environments; UL 844 listed for hazardous locations; ABS listed; IP66; and LM79 tested and certified. As with any LED fixture, thermal management is the key to protecting the efficiency and long life of the solid state light source.

Port of Hull Opens Multi-purpose Warehouse

Investment of more than £4 million in a purpose-built facility for the storage of dry bulk cargoes has given Associated British Ports’ (ABP) Port of Hull a pioneering multi-purpose warehouse facility which will be used to store biomass. The building, which took almost a year to construct, boasts a range of features which makes it the only one of its kind in operation in the UK. ABP Dry Bulks Manager, Craig Barbour said: “ABP really is leading the way in wood pellet storage in the UK following the £130 million investment in dedicated handling facilities in both Immingham and Hull.

Tideland Signal Lights Sandy Neck Lighthouse

Tideland Signal is proud to have worked with the Sandy Neck Lighthouse Committee, supplying them with a new ML-300 SolaChan and MaxiHALO-60 LED light source to bring the Sandy Neck Lighthouse back to life. First constructed in 1857, the Sandy Neck Lighthouse is located on the Sandy Neck Peninsula, just over eight miles away from Cape Cod Canal, a major artery for outgoing and incoming ocean tonnage. Decommissioned by the United States Coast Guard in 1932, a restoration committee was formed in 2004 with the aim of restoring the lighthouse in time for its 150th birthday. After years of hard work, the Sandy Neck Lighthouse Restoration Committee raised enough money to restore the Lantern Room, reopening it in 2007 using an optic with a 4 nautical mile visual range.
