Liza Unity: Exxon's Second FPSO in Guyana Produces First Oil

Exxon Mobil Corp on Friday said it is accelerating output at its Guyana offshore oil development, starting a new production vessel that will bring total capacity to more than 340,000 barrels per day.An Exxon-led consortium started production in the South America country in 2019 and is responsible for all oil and gas output in Guyana. Exxon and partners Hess Corp and CNOOC Ltd. have discovered some 10 billion barrels of oil.Production at the Liza Unity floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel is expected to reach 220,000 barrels of oil per day later this year, Exxon said.

Exxon Starts Drilling at Offshore Guyana Projects

Exxon Mobil Corp said it has commenced development drilling in the first of three offshore Guyana projects, which could produce more than 500,000 barrels of oil per day. ExxonMobil's Canada Offshore Project Produces First Oil

The Hebron oil project off the coast of eastern Canada has produced its first oil, operator Exxon Mobil said on Tuesday, in a boost to Atlantic Canada's output after years of weak crude prices. At its peak Hebron will produce up to 150,000 barrels per day (bpd), Exxon said. It will help Atlantic Canada offshore production climb 44 percent to 307,000 bpd by 2024, according to estimates from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Exxon, Partners Set $4.4 Bln for Oil Project Offshore Guyana

Exxon Mobil Corp said on Friday it and partners would spend $4.4 billion to develop part of the Liza oilfield off the coast of Guyana, approving a megaproject at a time when the oil industry has grown obsessed with lower-cost shale. Exxon's decision shows that oil companies remain interested in large projects, especially offshore, even in an era of belt-tightening after two years of low crude prices. The Guyana announcement from Exxon and partners Hess Corp and CNOOC was the fifth deepwater project to gain approvals this year. BP Plc and Reliance Industries said on Thursday they would spend $6 billion to develop natural gas reserves off the Indian coast.

Keppel FELS Delivers Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited has delivered a KFELS B Class design jackup drilling rig to Seadrill Management AS (Seadrill), within budget and ahead of time. This rig was named West Prospero by Lady Sponsor Jocelyn Pedregosa Shearer, wife of Ian Shearer, Senior Vice President for Jackup Units of Seadrill on June 30, 2007. Liam Mallon, Chairman and Lead Country Manager of ExxonMobil Malaysia, graced the ceremony as Guest-of-Honor. West Prospero is the second KFELS B Class rig that Keppel FELS has delivered to Seadrill. The first rig, West Ceres (ex-Seadrill 3), was delivered to Seadrill in April 2006. Keppel FELS is building two more KFELS B Class jackup rigs for Seadrill. Construction of the other two rigs is progressing according to schedule.
