Carnival to Launch Four Ships in 2019
Carnival Corporation announced it will launch four new cruise ships in 2019 across three of its leading global brands – Carnival Cruise Line, America's Cruise Line; Costa Cruises, the largest European cruise operator; and Princess Cruises, international premium cruise line. Holland America Debuts Pool Concept
When Holland America Line's ms Statendam, ms Maasdam, ms Ryndam, ms Veendam and ms Rotterdam emerge from nearly month-long dry docks with an additional $200m in investments, one of the highlights will be The Retreat, a new resort-style pool area on the aft of the Lido deck. The main focus of the new pool experience will be a shallow area with forty-four lounge chairs where guests can relax and dip their fingers and toes in the water. Built-in benches create another place for guests to relax and dangle their legs in the refreshing water.
Cruise Ships to be Renovated Following U.S. Government Charters
Sensation and Holiday, currently on charter to the U.S. refurbishment prior to re-entering service this spring. Orleans Oct. program it previously operated prior to Hurricane Katrina. The 1,452-passenger Holiday will resume its previously operated program. other programming. more space for sunning and relaxing. include an entirely new decor and remodeled bathrooms. will be refurbished as well. restaurant and public area, along with the creation of several new crew areas. greets guests as they enter the vessel. seating, and new carpeting and tile work throughout.
James P. Colie & Associates Selected for Upgrades
Marine interior contractor, James P. Colie & Associates was selected for refurbishment of Crown Princess and Sky Princess. On Crown Princess, craftsmen refurbished the 10,000-sq.-ft. café on the Lido Deck and building a new children's center at Cascade General Shipyard in Portland, Oregon. A team of nearly 50 craftsmen made the necessary removals in the café and fully outfit a new window-enclosed structure. All new finishes were installed throughout the café including wallcoverings, flooring, seating, cabinetry and millwork, buffet lines, dance floor and stage. The forward entrances were expanded and modified for better traffic flow and air conditioning control. Above the café, a vertical extension of the café structure wasadded, creating a new 2,000-square-ft.
