Oil Supertanker Grounded in Indonesia Will Take a Month to Free - Navy

Indonesian authorities said on Monday it could take up to a month to free a crude oil tanker stuck in its waters, while the United States slapped sanctions on the vessel for alleged links to Hezbollah and a branch of Iran's Revolutionary Guards. The Indonesian navy has been trying to free the Djibouti-registered vessel, Young Yong, which ran aground off Indonesia's Riau Islands on Oct. 26. The U.S. last week issued sanctions against an international oil smuggling network it said supports Hezbollah and Iran's Quds Force, targeting dozens of people, companies, and tankers as Washington sought to mount pressure on Tehran. The Young Yong was among the vessels sanctioned. U.S. embassy officials in Singapore and Jakarta did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

High Tien Offshore (HTO) signed a Letter of Intent with Jong Shyn Shipbuilding (JSS) to build Taiwanese Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV) in JSS' shipyard for use in the Taiwanese offshore wind farm industry, supporting developers’ bidding for the offshore windfarms of zonal development in Round 3.The CTVs, when built, will be suitable to operate in the harsh weather and sea conditions in the Taiwanese offshore wind farm areas, and are in step with the Taiwanese government's promotion of local supply chain support for the offshore wind farm industry.

Offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings' (POSH) accommodation vessel has been designated by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (“MPA”) to support crew changes for cargo ships calling in Singapore.To date, MPA has approved about 6,000 crew changes for cargo ships since 27 March 2020. For crew change applications made from 19 June 2020, MPA has designated two facilities - including POSH's accommodation unit - to accommodate crew who are unable to transfer directly to his/her vessel or flight and require a temporary rest area of up to 48 hours.
