Liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplier Bomin Linde LNG said it has secured a capacity of 7,500 m3 LNG bunker supply vessel, the largest of its kind to date, via a time-charter contract signed with ship owner Bernhard Schulte on September 30, 2016. The vessel is chartered by a joint venture, established in November 2015, in which Bomin Linde LNG holds 90 percent. Germany’s Linde Group will build the first FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) facility in Iran, Iran’s oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said. Zanganeh said that building LNG-producing facility in line with exports of LNG to European countries is a priority for the ministry. Currently, it has a 60-per cent physical growth and when completed, it will add to the 10.5 million metric tons of LNG annually, reports MNA. The Finnish government granted 65.2 million euros (84.22 million US dollar) in subsidies to build three small liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals to cut on use of fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in industry, the economy ministry said on Thursday. Finland is building a network of LNG terminals along its coastline, expecting that LNG will be increasingly used as a shipping fuel in the Baltic Sea. "With the help of this support, Manga LNG Oy, Skangass Oy, and Oy Aga Ab will build LNG terminals in Tornio, Pori and Rauma respectively," the ministry said in a statement. Manga LNG is a joint venture, which includes Finnish stainless steel maker Outokumpu Oyj.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI),  claimed to be the world’s biggest shipbuilder, and the only one in Korea capable of constructing both Membrane type and Moss type LNG carriers, informs it will exhibit at the upcoming Gastech 2014 show in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The shipbuilder says it has taken the lead in introducing cutting-edge LNG-related ships, and developing independent LNG storage system and technology. It will show models of an LNG carrier, an LNG FPSO and an LNG FSRU at the event.

Components for industrial plants are regularly shipped on board Rickmers-Linie’s heavy lift multipurpose vessels, supporting supply chains for a wide range of industries. In November, Rickmers-Linie carried two coldboxes, which had been manufactured by Linde AG, from Bremen to Jubail in Saudi Arabia. Loading onto the ocean vessel Rickmers Chennai took place in Bremen in November. The two 31.44m x 14m x 9.5m coldboxes, weighing 359 metric tons each, were lifted onboard by the ship’s own cranes.

Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world’s biggest shipbuilder and offshore facilities contractor announced today that the Company completed developing its own Hyundai FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas Plant) model in association with Linde AG, an international industrial gases and engineering company of Germany. The Hyundai FLNG has an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons of LNG and can store about 193,800 m3 LNG with its compact size of 355 m in length, 70 m width and 35 m in height.

Even for Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s largest shipyard group, it was a remarkable occasion. In a quadruple naming ceremony at HHI’s Ulsan shipyard on July 2, Rickmers Group christened four ultra-large container ships (ULCS) of 13,100 TEU each. Each of the four ships, Pearl Rickmers, Ruby Rickmers, Aqua Rickmers and Coconee Rickmers, has a service speed of 24.3 knots. They have been chartered longterm to Maersk Line and will join Maersk’s “E-class” as Maersk Edinburgh, Maersk Emden, Maersk Eindhoven and Maersk Essen.

According to reports, SBM Offshore said it expects the first sale of its Liquified Natural Gas offshore production facility, called LNG FPSO, within 18 months, and also announced a development partnership with Germany's Linde AG. SBM said it now considers the LNG FPSO ready for marketing and added that it can now establish the cost and delivery time of each unit. The LNG FPSO is an offshore liquefied natural gas production facility that allows the development of stranded offshore gas fields as it produces, liquefies and stores gas. SBM said capital expenditures on each unit is $2b. To shorten the design and delivery cycle time of the LNG FPSO, SBM said it decided to form a partnership with Linde.
