Keppel O&M Wins $54.5 Million in Floating Production Contracts

HHI to Build FPS for LLOG Exploration

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has been awarded a contract to build a floating production system(FPS) for LLOG Exploration of the U.S..HHI, the world's biggest shipbuilder by orders, said in a stock exchange announcement that the offshore facility order is worth $454 million from the Louisiana-based, privately-held LLOG Exploration.The floating production storage and offloading unit would be constructed from August next year after a year-long design for completion and delivery in the first half of 2021.LLOG Exploration Company, one of the largest privately-owned exploration and production companies in US, said it would use the facility in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM).

Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale to Test Response to Trump-era Regulations

A federal auction of exploration leases in the Gulf of Mexico next week will test energy companies' appetite for acreage after the Trump administration left royalty rates for deepwater parcels unchanged, bucking an industry call to lower them.The U.S. Gulf of Mexico has faced waning interest in recent years as competition stepped up from other basins globally, as well as from onshore shale basins and Mexico's waters in the Gulf.Oil companies had lobbied for lower royalty payments for deepwater acreage because of the projects' high cost and long lead time before production can begin.

Gas Plant Fire Halts US Gulf Coast Platforms

At least two offshore oil platforms halted operations on Tuesday in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico after a fire at a natural gas processing plant in Mississippi shut a crucial pipeline that brings output onshore, several companies said. The fire at Enterprise Products Partners plant in Pascagoula was brought under control, but officials were still forced to close the 225-mile Destin gas pipeline system that can carry 1.2 billion cubic feet per day from offshore fields to Pascagoula. Destin, majority-owned by BP with Enbridge Inc a minority partner, said it was declaring force majeure, a legal clause that allows it to scrap commitments, as a result of the fire.

Signet Transports Second LLOG Rig to GofM

On September 14, five Signet Maritime ASD/Z-Drive tugboats, the SIGNET ENTERPRISE, SIGNET RELIANCE, SIGNET MAGIC, SIGNET WEATHERLY, and SIGNET VOLUNTEER successfully completed the Towout of LLOG’s DELTA HOUSE semisubmersible production facility to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. In June 2011, Signet also assisted with LLOG’s highly successful OPTI-EX Floating Production System (FPS) for the Who Dat development field located in Mississippi Canyon 503/504/547. Signet Maritime’s Tractor fleet escorts DELTA HOUSE to the Gulf of Mexico. Signet’s International Operations Complex located in Ingleside, Texas was responsible for assisting with the arrival of each hull on a heavy lift vessel (HLV), offload in the deep hole, lifts & sets, stability (incline) testing, and sail-out.

Statoil has completed the Martin well in US Gulf of Mexico and the Dilolo well in the Kwanza basin in Angola. Statoil announces a small discovery in its Martin prospect located in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). Statoil does not consider this to be a commercial discovery. The well has been drilled efficiently and plug and abandonment operations (P&A) are now ongoing. Once P&A operations are completed the Maersk Developer rig will move to the impact Perseus prospect in De Soto Canyon (DC) 231.

China Shipyard Delivers Drill Rig 'Sevan Louisiana'

COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co.,has delivered the third Sevan 650 Ultra-Deepwater Cylindrical Drilling Rig it has built for Sevan Drilling. The Sevan Louisiana, measuring 99 meters in LOA, 75 meters in breadth and 24.5 meters in depth, has a working depth of 3,800 meters and drilling depth of 12,000 meters. The deep water drilling rig and will start the transit to the US Gulf of Mexico, and is expected to commence operation for LLOG Bluewatert owards the end of Q1 2014, following completion of mobilization and certain additional equipment installations.

InterMoor Wins Contract with LLOG in Gulf of Mexico

InterMoor, an Acteon company, has won a contract for design, fabrication and installation of 12 suction pile anchors, preset installation of 12 chain/polyester/chain mooring lines and hook-up of the LLOG Delta House production semi-submersible (the Floating Production System “FPS”). The work will be conducted in the Mississippi Canyon 254 block of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The project will involve suction pile design, fabrication and installation, followed by preset mooring installation and pre-set mooring hook-up of the FPS. The 12 piles will be 85 ft. long and 16 ft.

Offshore Deepwater Brazil Sevan Drilling’s Big Dig

Up until 2011, Sevan Drilling was part of Sevan Marine, which builds FPSOs. In 2011 Sevan Drilling was separated from Sevan Marine becoming an independent company. Sevan Drilling was established by Sevan Marine in 2006 for the purpose of building state-of-the-art, ultra deepwater drilling rigs based on the Sevan 650 design, commonly known as the bucket design. Later the same year, Sevan Marine completed a private placement for the purpose of financing, in part, its drilling business, and an order for Sevan Driller was placed with China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO) in 2007. Sevan Drilling owns and operates two rigs of the cylindrical Sevan design. Both rigs have long-term charter contracts with Petrobras in Brazil for deepwater and ultra-deepwater plays including the pre-salt.

Seadrill contracts with LLOG Bluewater Holdings, LLC, for employment of the new-build drill-ship, 'West Neptune', offshore Gulf of Mexico. The contract duration is a minimum of three years plus an option for a one-year extension at mutually agreed rates. The potential revenue for the primary contract term is approximately US$662 million. The West Neptune is expected to be delivered to Seadrill from the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea, in early June 2014.

SCR Detailed Design Contract for 2H Offshore

2H Offshore Inc., an Acteon company, awarded a Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) detailed design project with LLOG Exploration Company. The scope of work includes the provision of detailed design of the production and export SCRs tied back to the Exmar OPTI-11000 semi-submersible for the Delta House field development. LLOG is currently developing the Marmalard and SOB2 fields in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico which will both be tied back to the Delta House Floating Production Facility located in MC Block 254 in approximately 4,500 feet of water.

Exmar to Accelerate Payment with LLOG

EXMAR said that following the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement, LLOG and EXMAR have reached an agreement in principle whereby LLOG will accelerate the payments due on the sale of the OPTI-EX. EXMAR will receive a lump sum consideration for the sale of the OPTI-EX of $250m in January 2012 in addition to the payments of $104.5m already received in July 2011 and $10.4m received during the second semester 2011. This will result in net cash proceeds after tax  of approximately $127m. Net profit on the sale of the OPTI-EX will be approximately $50m and accounted for fully in 2011. This transaction will further reduce the financial debt position of EXMAR by approximately $113m.

Noble Reports Record Earnings

Noble Corporation reported 4Q 2007 earnings of $347.4 million, or $1.29 per diluted share, versus $199.7 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2006. Per-share earnings were up 74 percent from the fourth quarter of 2006 and up nine percent from the $1.18 per share reported for the third quarter of 2007. Earnings for the full year 2007 totaled $4.48 per diluted share compared with $2.66 per diluted share in 2006 (split adjusted). The results for the 2007 fourth quarter include a net after-tax charge of $0.06 per share related to the previously reported fire aboard the drillship Noble Roger Eason and costs associated with the ongoing independent investigation of the Company's Nigerian operations, offset by an insurance recovery on our 2005 Hurricane claims.
