UPS to Build Facility at DP World London Gateway

DP World London Gateway and UPS today announced plans to build a new 32,000 square metre package sorting and delivery facility at the logistics site in the south east of England. At close to £120 Million, the project is one of UPS’s largest infrastructure investments outside of the United States of America. HE Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, said, “We congratulate UPS on this strategic development. By using DP World London Gateway Park and Port, UPS will have a fast ‘global conveyor-belt’ directly connected to their own worldwide network. UPS’s hub will also provide distribution solutions to other logistics park occupiers.

UPS Plans $184 Mln Facility at London Gateway

UPS announced plans to construct a new 32,000-square-meter package sorting and delivery facility at the DP World London Gateway logistics site in the south east of England. At close to $184 million, this project constitutes one of UPS’s largest infrastructure investments outside of the United States in the company’s history. Luis Arriaga, Managing Director for UK, Ireland & Nordics, said: “This construction reaffirms UPS’s commitment to the UK and our confidence in its economy. “It is part of our nearly $2 billion in infrastructure investments across Europe over the next five years.

CMB Releases Third Quarter Results

At the end of the third quarter Bocimar expanded its fleet considerably. for 10 Handysize bulk vessels (33,500 dwt) from Samjin Corporation (Korea). of these vessels is scheduled to take place between September 2009 and December 2010. unit from Dalian (China). The delivery of the vessel will take place in June 2009. The prospects for the remainder of the year are good. fully covered at rewarding levels. The current spot freight markets remain historically high. second- hand values of bulk vessels. increase of more than 60%. The contribution of other activities amounts to $15.8m (2006: $5.75m). sale of Fukuoka 1266 (2007-19,700 dwt). ordered by CMB together with Wah Kwong in 2003 and 2004, and sold in early 2006.
